I just HAVE to ask. Have you found one or two people here on MyLot who just TOTALLY defy belief??
I was reading a post just now, and came across an EXCEPTIONALLY offensive reply. I was so utterly shocked and perturbed by this reply that I had a look at this persons profile and their other posts, and EVERY SINGLE ONE of their posts - questions and replies, were totally, inconceivably awful! (I'm sorry about all the capitals - I'm still in shock lol!) I was just wondering if anyone else has come across this sort of thing?
I was also wondering - do you think that these people are really, truthfully, so rude and hateful, or do you think maybe they are putting on an act to get attention or something?
I really don't know, and I'd love to hear your take on this!

I want to call your attention who have participated this discussion that,
Instead of adding all this over here mylot has already given us a guide line how to tackle these user.
I mean we are spposed to send a abuse to the mylot authorities that's all.
It even would have been better if the numbers of the discussions were added by you to just have a look at the cases you all ahve maintioned.
Hence onwards you all please report such a kind of "your view"the mylot admin for proper action.

Oarnamav - I don't think you're allowed to give links to another discussion?
Anyway, I simply wanted to know if other mylot users have encountered anyone like this here, and what they make of this type of person.

As we continue to weed out the spammers or the cheaterswe are going to keep strenthening MyLot.That is why I have been if I find someone notifying MyLot
if I find someone abusing the rules or even the spirit of the rules.I do check the previous questions they have asked to see if this is a continuous problem and bring it to their attention to watch that account.

This person is not particularly spamming or cheating. Is it allowed to report someone for being consistently rude and hateful?

I read the rules again earlier today and I see that you can report trolling. I think what this person is doing could be seen as trolling.

Yes I think you're right. Maybe some people who are frustrated in real life take it out on people online.

I haven't come acrtss someone abrasive like that. But I did come across one person whose repsonse was so short, pointless, and compeltely off topic that I went and looked at some of their posts and saw that they respond to everyone the same way. A whole string of "I don't know", "boring", "I am not interested", etc. It just floors me. Why in the world waste the time to even sign up. I have read a few posts where people are maybe a bit rude. But never habitually so. I always chalk it up to a bad day, or me taking it wrong. I figure this is a place to meet people and share new ideas and have discussions on a multitude of interesting things, really no reason to be hateful and rude to people.

Yes I agree with you entirely! I don't see the point in being rude or nasty here!
I've also come across a Mr 'Boring' btw - floored me too!

More than likely they are probably the same way in the real world interactions they have - very sad really. I'm curious to know who it is so I can boycott them and keep track. You can always report the user if you want.
Fortunately I haven't come across anyone like that yet - is this user answering certain types of questions? It seems like people like that usually answer questions that have to do with religion, abortion and just about anything having to do with homosexuality. It's weird...i guess these are hot topic issues where it's really easy to get a rise out of someone.

Yes - he / she does seem to be answering 'hot topic' questions mostly.
I certainly hope I never have to meet this person in 'real life' lol!

I think these people are probably trolls who get off being nasty. Some of them are probably wimps in real life and are taking advantage of the anonymity of the net to behave like jerks.

Yes I think you're right. I was thinking that this type of person may be a troll. I think you're right as well about probably being wimps in real life - the typical bully syndrome - bullies feel weak and powerless so they bully other people to feel better about themselves.

This happened to me once , I was so upset I wrote a discussion about it , and to be honest I thought about leaving the site , the chap was rude to me and I am not used to that , I can never remember ever being rude to anyone in my life , and maybe I was expecting to much for people to be the same with me If you find someone like this report them , there is a = a - and a !on each discussion , just hit the ! and report them , I think the people who do this kind of thing are hiding behind the keyboard and I hope they wouldn't do it in real life . I hope you are over it now , it took me a while to get over it , I have made a lot of really nice friends on here and they made me realize he was only the one not nice agains the dozens of nice xx

There seem to be some people who are intentionally setting out to get people upset and angry.I have to hope the person who started the discussion sees that there is one or two out there who WANT to upset them and to throw out their so-called suggestions or warped opinions.
As for those few people who try to ruin it for others,I think we as members should start keeping an eye out for them and asking MyLot if they are still within the boundaries. We the members have to help MyLot filter out the trouble makers. They can do it themselves, but in the meantime people are getting hurt by stupidity.

So far we have only come across one person who has been very rude ... but that was only in a couple of disussions and not all of them. I think these sort of people can be reported ... and anyway it is best to report them ... that means mylot have to deal with them in some way even if it means giving the person a warning. Nobody should have to put up with someone being rude .. obnoxious or abusive .. no matter where they are.
In other forums we have noted that some people always start very controversial discussions .... that is so they get lots of responses ... then they comment on those and so on it goes. They get heaps of money from this sort of thing ... but often the admin wakes up to them and takes some sort of action. We were on one site where a person only every started their own discussions and never answered any from anyone else ... had heaps of money too but in the end the site went down the tube and got no money.

There have been a few who have floored me. One person recently told someone to do away with herself because she admitted she cheated on her husband.
Some people are clueless and the minute you say something back to them they get all offended and upset...well gee--maybe you watch how you say things. If you don't like it, why would someone else
(You is used in a general sense)
I do think others are here to just cause problems and see who they can upset and that is sad :(

I haven't come across such a person yet ... and I am happy about it
I don't know why som people feel the need to be mean to others ... maybe being anonymous behind a nickname make them feel stronger amd powerful and they just get out of control : they can do online something they might not have the courage to do in the real life ... and the consequences are very small - being banned from mylot, not so impressive - so they feel epowered But no matter what, it is wrong and I hope they get banned

I cannot stand people like that. I would just give them a negative and not respond to them, as they are probably only doing it to get some sort of response out of people. When online alot of people are like that because they can't see your face. I really try hard to be the opposite while online and I tend to be nicer because you cannot really understand inflection of typed words and people may come across differently than they intend to. I really wish everyone would be respectful, but unfortunatly that is just not the world we live in.

Some of the posts I see here make me wonder the things that people grew up on, but it is not my place to judge someone and what they believe in because im sure there are people who see the things I post and believe in and think that I am wrong for my beliefs as well.

I am pretty new to my lot so I cannot fairly give an opinion on the people you mean. But in my experience in general I have found that those kinds of people are usually pretty miserable people. Misery loves company so they try to spread the wealth. LOL. Sometimes they do it for attention, but those are easy to spot as well because they don't take the time to know the subject. I like to respond with gushing kindness. LOL. It makes both kinds crazy!

Anything is possible. A.) Being online may give them the freedom to express what they truly feel or B.) They didn't get much attention as a child and feed off of it here.
Either way, sick people do exist...just be grateful that they are rare and highly avoided in society.
