Perhaps I've Lost My Mind....Perhaps We All Have

Or perhaps I never had it in the first place. I'm sure, if you're clicking this, you've noticed the new Mylot layout. Unless you're like me and it took you a little while to realize anything had changed. I've never been the most observant of people when it comes to layouts. My ex MIL once redecorated the entire living room overnight and it took me a week to realize. But I digress. Sometimes I wonder if I spend too much time in my own company. My existence is essentially comprised of my small apartment and my deck. I talk to myself. I talk to my cat. I talk to my television. I talk to my computer. I exclaimed 'I fear change!' upon realizing the Mylot layout was different and saw nothing strange about this. I rarely see anything strange with anything I do or say. I have only the words of others to judge the normalcy of my actions by. That's all any of us have, really. On the other hand, I've always leaned to the eccentric side. Or do I have to be rich to be eccentric? A poor eccentric person is generally just considered crazy. Funny how we have these distinctions. And were I a published author with scores of reviews, I would be neither crazy or eccentric, I would be a genius. Because we all know geniuses are just a little bit off. And I enjoy my own company. We have fascinating debates, me and I. At least I only have one cat.

lol miss... nice to know I'm not alone :) I read once that it's okay to talk to yourself.. your not worry unless you answer back.. but sometimes I do answer back.. although I like to think that it's not just me answering - it's the universe or your spirit guide or whoever you believe is out there.. and please don't rely on the words of others as a judge for normal.. most people out there are generally more"unnormal" than you are to begin with.. if your comfortable with yourself that should be all that matters.. lol..

I think it all comes down to defining normalcy. How do we define what's normal? How do we set parameters for a species that varies so vastly from specimen to specimen? How do we know what's normal? I honestly don't believe there's any such thing as normal. Not for the human race.

I think that normal either doesn't exist, or if it does, it's not what I want to be. Why would anyone want to be mainstream? Who wants to be a three-leaf-clover?

Its more like we seemed to worry about our shadow. We are worry that we could be different from the rest. In actual fact, everyone feel the same and there is no one common answer for being normal. Nowadays, I am trying to be myself rather than what I think the others want me to behave. If you understand what I mean. LOL. Being myself gives me the freedom to be normal. Obviously, I am what I do. I want people to see me the way I do.

I noticed a difference ... but, typical of me, I blamed it oin myself ... I figured I must be remembering it wrong. hehe. I still think I am a genious - maybe you are too? Misunderstood genious. It can come across as eccentricity to those who are not also geniouses ... HAH. It also explains why I forget to do a lot of things - because genious minds are too busy doing genious things to rememeber all that menial stuff like where the car keys are. Try it on for an excuse - see how it feels.

You do not have to be rich to be eccentric, as i have informed my friends many times. You do however have to be rich to be stark raving mad, generally because no one will give a lunatic a job, whereas an eccentric person can get away with it. Do not worry about being normal. What is normal? there is no answer to that question because we are all different, only some of us more so than others. Enjoy being slightly odd, perculiar, eccentric or even French because you will be a lot more interesting than the "normal people"

I have searched and searched for the answer to that question for years, an never have I found the answer. I fully believe normal doesn't exist. People will always say 'this isn't normal' or 'you aren't normal' but they can never define parameters.

Well I did notice right away but only because I had to use the slide bar to see everything and I was really confused then. Not sure I like it yet. Will have to let you know. Still playing around and getting the lay of the land. Besides it's ok to talk to yourself, so long as you don't get more then two answers back :) One from yourself, one from anyone who might over here is fine, it's when the unknown is heard you really have to wonder.

86 more cats and you'll be in the same boat as my ex! Seriously, we all have quirks and living alone makes us all work a little harder to make connections. And no, you don't have to be rich to eccentric. Though in some places if you aren't rich, you're not eccentric, just crazy!! About this layout, it's messing with me. I want to know how many posts I've made w/out having to go back and look at a post!

Normal? I think everyone has a different definition for the word normal. I like spending time alone and doing what I want no questions ask. I also talk to myself on a regular basis or it seems I do even when my hubby is home becuase he never listens and its like talking to myself. I hadn't been on mylot for a day or so but seems as though they change things everymonth so thats what I expect now it wouldn't be normal if they didn't change it. If someone catches you talking to yourself you could always tell them you are talking to your muse or guardian angel..

The new layout is significantly different. It would be hard to miss. You have to look for things that you used to go easily too. Must be some benefit, I just don't know what it is yet. Glad to be here. Have a great day.

there isnt much of a change, just a bigger mylot sign and in a different place...same old mylot tho...

People find me to be quite "crazy" but I totally don't find anything wrong with the way I am. I think I'm perfect the way I am, because I'm considered "unique" by my friends. So, I would rather be unique than what others consider normal.

I dont think there is anything wrong with being a person who has lost their mind. How much more normal can you get? LOL. I talk to my cat, and we have great conversations...lol. And being eccentric is just plain fun, I think.

I think outloud, I MUMBLE AND TALK TO MYSELF QUITE FREQUENTLY AND sometimes I say the ----- word even when noone is there to hear it or listen and I dont think its abnormal , I think its expressing ourselves and its our way of muddling over whats on our minds...people who do this tend to think more and question more, and that is a good way to think things out untill you are ready to make decisions....at least we do think and use our minds...I also sing outloud to music and it may sound weird but its fun....

You are freakin hilarious. But yeah, I'd think I saw something but then it was back to normal, then I saw it again, and it was back to normal. And then one day it was all a bit different. I thought I was going nuts.

My mom always is asking me if she likes what she did to her room. Of course I have no idea what is new there. It happens once a month. After of being there for about an hours she will just smile at me and say... so do you like it? And of course I have no idea what she is talking about. It has been said that I am not the most observant person either, so I know how you feel misskatonic. I think that they need a class or something to help people like us.

I noticed it immediately but sometimes I tend to see the little details rather than the more important things.

Say what! You mean it it changed? I hadn't noticed. As to the other, I vote for eccentric, not crazy. With your skill and ability at the craft of writing I think you will be a published writer, sooner rather than later, and then we can all celebrate your genius.

I tend to agree with you. Or I guess I should say be like you. I only noticed because there are now a whole bunch of green words under my avatar on the left, and I was looking at my avatar to see if it was moving. I changed it yesterday and wanted to see if it was behaving properly. It isn't, but then that is another story. I could throw the computer, but then I would only have to go and get it, and likely have it fixed. I think it is perfectly acceptable to consider yourself poor and eccentric, rather than crazy. At least this is how I prefer to classify myself. I also chat with myself frequently. I have always said "Hey I am the only one who listens to me anyways, so at least this way I am not being ignored." I mean I talk to the baby, the dogs, and the cat too, but they just generally look at me with blank looks and knock something over to be cleaned up. The husband, well, I don't know why he doesn't listen. It would certainly be a lot easier on him if he did. Now I am all off topic, and rambling. After realizing that Mylot had changed, I have decided that I like it. It seems a little smoother, and I like some of the new layout.
