Do you believe in God?

When the time comes, are you gong to be talking to St. Peter, or will you be facing Satan and the hounds of hell? Me personally, I don't believe in Satan, and my "higher power" does not have a name... I believe we are in charge of our own destiny, but obviously there is someone to oversee everything that we do... I mean let's face it, everything either works out or does not work out for a reason.. I believe everyone has a purpose in life, and if we do not fofill our destiny, we will come back until we do find the reason we were supposed to be here... Obviously I have not figured it out yet, I feel like I have lived a hundred years as a slave to society... lol!!! Where do you stand? What do you believe? Are you going to face St. Peter, or Santan and the hounds of hell? Do you believe in reincarnation? Or do you believe once we are gone we are done, or go to "heaven"? What do you picture heaven to be like?

I'm very NOT christian. I tend to classify myself as Ecclectic Pagan with a Hindu/Yoga philosophy. I do believe in reincarnation, and most things that fall into either the Sankya or Yoga philosophies (they're similar). To me, philosophy and religion are very, very similar so I have a lot of trouble separating them.

Corvin does not have to believe in God. Don't gang up on a person with different beliefs.

I believe in God. Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior. I know God is real but unfortunately it is hard to know unless you strive to get to know him. I believe that sometimes getting to know him is a matter of maturity and if the word was ever put in you that someway or another it will resurface and you will find your way back

I never used to beleive in god when i was younger. i think that's mostly because i had a rough childhood and i thought maybe there wasn't a god because i was so unhappy and thought if there was a god why would he let people feel like this. after giving birth to my daughter though i had a change of heart. i thought only god would allow me to feel this much love and give me something so beautiful. so now i do beleive.

I do believe in God and Jesus. I am unsure what heaven looks like, I try to picture my idea of paradise and to me thats what heaven is. I know during hard times its hard to think God is there with you, but I know he is, and I know we all have a purpose.

I don't believe in God, or any sort of deity, the only thing I can believe in is Nature, the amazing force of Nature and science (and yes, science can't explain a lot of stuff, but I suppose it's because we (the mankind) are not *big* (in a menatal way) enough to understand)

I thin Science cannot answer everything. Even if we are big...huge, science cannot simply explain something like beauty. The kind of explanation science will offer on beauty will be more like on the position and the motion of eletron or something like that. The aesthetic beauty cannot be explained by science...simply because it falls outside of the realm of science. Or even question like why is there somethin rather than nothing? is a question philosophers have been speculating for ages, but it falls outside science. The moment science tries to answer that question it steps outside of its boundary. It is dealing with philosophy.

I hope you find your answer soon. I believe in God and heaven and hell and I certainly believe that Satan is a reality. I do believe we have a purpose in life and only by living in His will I believe will we ever find our purpose and it will probably be at the end of our lives. I think we as human beings are to small to see the bigger picture, but good luck to you!

i do not believe in supernatural. but i respect God. i think what we call God is nothing but our Mother Nature. its the greatest power. nature is, that who controls all the things. but you may find it interesting that i dont believe that there is something like God but i love those who believe in God. people those believe in god do not give up even in the worst conditions. they fight against all the troubles only with the internal support that they find by their faith in god. also some people avoid to do bad things bcz they think that the god is watching them. so if only the name of God can make people to do good things and, can help them in keeping the hope even in the worst moments of their lives, then i think even this word (God) is worth of respect.

I respect your belief. I believe in my religion Roman Catholicism. The idea that you doubt that there is God shows that God is there but you don't believe his existence. If there is no God then why is it that everything in its existence is unique and special in the sense that it has purpose and meaning to us. Like us for example, In our body we are composed of body systems which is composed of organs, which is composed of tissues, which is composed of cells, which is composed of molecules, which is composed of atoms. As you can see, We ourselves are masterpieces of our creator where everything is in its place that has a purpose, harmony and beauty. If we are not products of his creation that what would make you think that make us exist with this kind of complexities. And about heaven or hell, Well the bible claims that there are places such as that but I don't see any evidence. if you don't believe it then it is alright, anyway nothing will be gone from you but what if one day you'll die and you'll know that it's true. What are you going to do?

Personally, I think it's easier to believe in God than to not believe in him. For many reasons, mankind has chosen to believe over not to believe in the vast majority of cases. They may have needed many gods or at least several to get the job done, but they have believed. Statistically, it would appear that about 3/4 or more of today's people believe in one way or another. I believe in a monotheistic religion with a God who is beyond all human understanding. The existence of God explains the cosmos, nature, and humanity. He gives us a sufficient reason to live a decent, lawful, and reasonable life. I can't buy reincarnation because I believe the Bible leaves no room. It states plainly that man is appointed to die only once and then face judgment.

In "judgement" who is to say that the judgement or punishment is not to be sent back to this earth and start all over? I mean for real who the heck wants to come back and do it all over? I know I don't, and that would be one hell of a punishment...

Judgment in this case means to move on either to eternal bliss or eternal punishment. It's definitely not intended to be do-over.

I'd like to believe in God. I'm very agnostic, though. I can believe when I'm given some sort of reason to. However, I do have a lot of "faith" in general. You don't have to believe in God (or religion) to have faith. Faith is what people value in their respective religions, and I don;'t have to be affiliated with any particular religion to feel this way.

I believe in God who has revealed himself in Jesus Christ, who came to our history, in time and space. The 'higher power' you talk about is Jesus... because it is through Jesus that energy comes into existence. And that shows that Jesus is powerful because the 'source' of energy must be powerful. I say it is not just nameless 'higher power' because you and I have intelligent mind...and if we claim that we have intelligent mind, there must be a Cosmic Mind that gives us this mind. So it has to be more than just 'higher power'. It must have 'mind'. I do not believe in reincarnation because in reincarnation hypothesis you cannot trace where 'you' come from, and where you would be once that cycle is over. Heaven is not out there, but it is about God's dimension that is different from our dimension. And I believe that we shall all one day see that dimension as God transforms all of physical reality. Whether we live in that dimension or not is another question.

You know, I don't deny that there is a possible that god exists, I just don't believe I should be praying for someone that I do not know if he exists for sure. I guess I am the kind of a person that say if I don't see it, I don't believe it.

I beleive in reincarnation and Karma. I believe whatever we do in live will come back to us in one way or the other. I beleive I will go to the summerlands, or the thereafter like some people call it, and eventually be reincarnated.

Now that's a good question! I am catholic, went to church as a kid every Sunday, even taught Sunday school for a while. But I suppose I'm thinking more about God since I'm married, having to go through a lot of personal things. I tend to talk or pray to God every night, even during the day I tend to think of him. My husband says he finds me more religious than before. Maybe, but I can't help thinking when a person has so much bad luck, no matter what that person does, keeps finding a wall in front of them, I can't believe that we're respondable for what's happening! I often wonder too, why God lets certain things happen, especially to good people who don't deserve such bad luck. So I'm still learning I suppose, I can't say I don't believe in him, but when I hurt it's very hard to keep faith!

Maybe you just aren't listening or are listening to hard. Relax God hears every Prayer, thought and wish that you have and he will answer all prayers in his own time not yours, He will also use different messengers to answer many things But also some times it may not be the anwer that you are wanting, just don't lose your faith he is always over your shoulder and walking beside you all the time.

I do believe in GOD. And St. Peter is no GOD. Belief in GOD and belief in reincarnation is entirely different dogma. Christians believe in GOD, and so does Hindu, Islam, etc. But the idea of heaven and reincarnation differs in each beliefs.

I did not mean that St. Peter was God, I know that St. Peter is the keeper of the gates, just like the hounds guard the gates of hell....
