Im really confused right now.. believe me and this has caused me sleepless nights... i have a stable job, i work as a supervisor but i hate the pressure we got at work, and its not worth the stress i get there, they pay too little and sometimes i have to work overtime for free and my boss don't see my team and i's effort. it hurts me more than its making me happy...
i want to be out! but i dont want to transfer in other company... i want to resign and work abroad... im not sure where to go though... im really at lost and im really close to losing my senses everytime i think about all these... please help me be enlightened...

Going abroad usually means more money but it doesn't always mean better conditions or being 'appreciated' also when abroad the choices are very limited to change the job and you are tied up with a contract.. leave all your options open and look for a better job at home first, if you really want to go abroad you must be certain that it's a good contract and don't take a hasty step just for the money or to get out of your current situation, believe me things can always get worse no matter how bad it is..

I regreted my decision... i am now waiting for the right time and break my contract and back to my country.

Someone close to me works overseas a lot and he only gets to see his twins for six months out of the year. His job stinks.

going abroad is not really a solution. It means you're unning away. Are you there for the salary or for the job?what really makes you happy?...before you decide ask those questions to yourself..Pressure is always part of work.
here in abroad, there are a lot more pressure than you think. If you don't mind are you still single or married? If you are still single, you can easily leave your family. I mean you're not carrying a big responsibility but if you will go out and go abroad but you're married that's not an easy thing you do. Here in abroad it's not easy to find a job. Yes. you earn more money than your salary but are you willing to leave your family?..think about it..
Hope i helped..

if i were you, i'd go right ahead and resign and go abroad. (but of course, it helps when you apply for a job abroad first & have youself accepted before you resign just to be sure). you're still young, in fact too young to have a job burnout already. anyway, there are still a lot of opportunities that are open for people of your age. so, go for it. don't be afraid of change. and good luck to you.

What type of work do you do? Many jobs have a lot of pressure now a days and being a supervisor can make a job even more stressful since you are depended on a lot more than other people in your company. Supervisors and managers here in my state do not get paid overtime as their salary covers everything they do. Is there a different department in your company you can work in instead so that you would not have to leave the company? Where abouts abroad do you think you would want to work?

i work in MIS department. our department is so stressed and our boss do not even recognize the efforts and is always putting my team in hot seat. they see all faults and no good in what my team does, i lost a few good specialist already.. and it pains me more that i cannot do anything about it because what they tell me is true... the company lets us work like horses with no more time to pee... yes that's true! and i do not even remember having a day that i took my full 1 hour lunch... :(

its good that you want to take the initiative to get out of a job that doesn't make you happy. i would highly recommend going abroad because it can be a really amazing and new experience that could bring you the happiness you're looking for. im not sure what else to tell you, but i guess it depends on what kind of job you want to do and what language skills, if any, that you have. there are a lot of international organizations and non-governmental organizations that you could wrok for depending on wht your interests are. i suggest researching into the type of career you want to lead abroad and see what choices are available to you now.

You do not say what sort of work your company does or what your job skills are. Do you have job skills that not many other people have? Could you be easily replaced? You sound like you really hate your job. Perhaps there are international companies who have offices near where you live where you could make inquiry about what jobs they have available and what the job pays. Lots of luck to you my friend.

no. i cannot be replaced easily. we are a call center, my team submits reports, and we do scheduling of the agents, forecasting calls, those sort of critical stuffs in a call center... i feel bad because, i gave the best i can, i studied all these stuffs by myself, the company does not even give trainings and even said one time that if we want books, we can buy it for ourselves and will not be charged to the company. i filed my resignation last year, they won't take it and held me back convincing me and all... im still thinking right now that if i see one job with equal position i will no longer stay... im confused im with the company for 4 years now.

In case you decide to go abroad, the only suggestion that I can give is for you to make sure that they will pay the following on top of your salary that you expect to get here:
1. pay for feeling homesick
2. pay for the time that you will spend outside family time (this is different for homesickness)
This does not always mean doubling your salary because if you are very close to your family, the price attached to the two might be higher than the salary. And when you have computed that it is worth going there, then be ready for the two feelings because they have already been paid for.
Ooops, another advice is that if you are no longer happy where you are now, you might as well get out and find some other place that you can be happy. Learn from your experiences in that company. Do not be too generous by making too many sacrifices.
God bless!

Yeah that would be better also, to come up or start his own buisness and start from there. Though it would take some huge amount to start a buisness i think it will be worth it since you will be the boss of your self and that you will be the one controlling your own time. greetings. : )

Moving abroad and getting a good new job is not easy. A lot of your education and work experience may not be recognised by companies overseas. In other words, it's starting over from scratch. Are you ready to do that? You really have to weigh the pros and cons of going overseas as objectively as possible and not let your emotions rule your decisions. Maybe you can see a career advisor/counselor.

I understand where you are!!! I was once there too...
The only advice that I can give you is that you need to ask for a pay rise...If however, they reject that, then you're not that important to the company. (If you can understand what I mean...???) This will make your decision for you. If they don't want to increase your pay then you resign. If they do, then it's simple and you stay.
About moving overseas, first go online and find out where you would like to go, then look for work that is available in that country.
I did just that...my company back home would give me a substantial pay rise so it was a good reason for me to leave...and that is just what I did. I've been living in another country now for 6 years. Don't want to go back home but it's coming time to move on to the next one...
At the end of the day, if you are not happy wherever you go, you can always go back to your home country...
Good Luck!!!

This job doesn't make you be happy, change another one. Life is short, why don't we live happily. Sometimes we make some important desicions then we may lost something we don't want to, if this could make you feel happy, do it.

I do have the same dilemma before when I was young and full of life and hope for the idealisms that life could offer. So at the first sight of getting out of that job I took it hoping that I would get a better job next time and avoid such companies the next time I find a job. Then I got another job it was fine at the start but then again I realized that the same problems are happening in that company and sometimes it got even worse than the first one I entered into. I have no choice but to find another company to work with again and was lucky I found another company where I am working till this day. I stayed here longer than my past employers but did I find my utopian employer? No I did not, I have this realization that there is no such thing as ideal employer who will recognize your effort all the way you hope it would be. The thing is in every employer there is good and bad points so lived with it and try to better yourself with it. If things really is going against you then you might decide to leave the company its your to decide but expect to meet same situation in your career just avoid those mistakes you have experienced.

I know how you feel. But it all depends on you. Where does your heart belong or where do you think you will be happy working at? You should consider your family's needs or your needs. But beware, working abroad means more sacrifice but very rewarding. Well I wish you luck!

Working abroad is a tough decision girl.. But nowadays, lots of people go abroad because they wanted to have a good life and a good future for their family.. Because sometimes, we do lots of work but we only being pay less. That's makes us tired and think that we need to do something to make our life grow..
