Are they really that good? Is it intresting? Can you tell me the plot/story?
I've seen these two mangas always talked about, but haven't even started getting the volumes. Is it worth the buy? What's so great about them?
I've read many jap, chinese, korean mangas but lately i'm just hanging around with my exams. Once they're over, i'll like to indulge in yet another manga(and make my parents go bersek).. Are there some other mangas you've read and would like to recommend? If so, please do so...this bored to death mylotter will greatly appreciate it.

i haven't read the elfin lied mangas but the anime is brill. Tsubasa is a brill manga. i read the first 8 and they really are surpurb.
i recomend any title by clamp, though some do have a bit of fan service. Ken Akamatsu's work is also good.
Blade of heaven is also good. Its mostly action and comedy

i've read a bit of both, but i can definitely tell you that you have very opposite tastes. elfin lied, or at least, what i've seen of elfin lied is one of the most bloodiest (fortunately it's only blood and not more gory) animes/mangas i've seen.
tsubasa goes in the opposite direction. and yes, while there is still fighting, it's more a dreamy girly type manga
if you want great manga recommendations, well, there is the new 'vampire knights'. keep in mind that i'm a girl and what i recommend is strictly from a girl's point of view. 'lambs tears' is also very good, but slightly depressing for girls that really care about weight (the main character is partly bulimic in a sort of enviable way). an old but good one would be 'kamikaze kaitou jeanne'. this one will definitely shake up the core of christian religion - (it says god was in love with eve and that's why he kicked adam + eve out of heaven: coz he got jealous of their relationship)

I've read Tsubasa Resorvoir Chronicle, and I think it's good. Like most of CLAMP's works, it's angsty, but the art is gorgeous and the characters are great. (I'm a big Kurogane and Fai fan).
The general plot is that the princess of Clow country, Sakura, one day lost all her memories when she went to an archeological dig to visit her childhood friend/crush, Syaoran. They disappeared magically, in the form of feathers, and scattered into alternate worlds; unfortunately she'll die if she doesn't retrieve them, so Sayoran (who secretly likes her back) goes on a quest to get back the feathers.

Yes, actually. Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle is one gigantic crossover of all of CLAMP's works so far. Including CCS, there's also X, Tokyo Babylon, Magic Knight Rayearth, Kobato, xxxHOLiC, and some other CLAMP titles I can't recall right now. :)

...part two!
For the world-jumping ability they need to go to the Witch of Dimensions, who agrees to help but names a price: Syaorna's most precious thing, their (Sakura and Syaoran's) times together. Later on, this manifests as Sayoran disappearing from Sakura's memories. She has no idea who she is, even if they've been together forever. :(
