you know that
This much is true: Elvis has reigned atop Forbes' list of "Top-Earning Dead Celebrities" every year since its inception in 2001, lording over John Lennon, James Dean, and all the others who are dead as dirt, yet filthy rich and getting richer.
But now, there's a new top star among dead tycoons. Forbes hails Kurt Cobain, who earned a whopping $50 million between October 2005 and 2006, as the New No. 1.
Presley wound up in second place, with $42 million, down $3 million from last year. And while it's certainly a blow to his fans, it's still much more than the combined earnings of deceased luminaries Marilyn Monroe ($8 million), Ray Charles ($10 million) and Johnny Cash ($8 million).

I think what causes this is simply passage of time. Most Elvis fans are older people (I say most, not all mind you!) and younger people purchase far more music these days. Moreover, by now, most fans of Elvis have most of the Elvis stuff out there to have!
Early fans of Kurt Cobain are probably at this point just reaching the age to become nostalgic, so I could see Cobain-related things selling well right now.

Oh please, John Lennon said himself there would have never been The Beatles without Elvis Presley. Remember, John also said "Before Elvis there was Nothing!" Contrary to popular opinion, Elvis actually quietly helped John and Yoko to stay in the US. During John's deportation battle, he reportedly called and asked Elvis for help, and it got done. Fascist? It is difficult to believe even the "messed up" Kurt Cobain would have given a quote as stupid as this one!For mr Elvis- more gold and platinum than anyone. 1 billion worldwide sales. 3 octave voice-sold out every concert he ever gave. The one person who sold Rock-n-roll to the world. Pioneer!

James Dean was just so handsome...such a tragic shame he didnt get to live longer, can you imagine how many movies he would have made and how awesome his career would have been. He was a well loved rising star,,,

WOW all that money and they can't even enjoy it.
I wonder whether Kurt Cobain would have been this successful if he was still alive?
I do hope the money goes to charity as it could do such much good to the less fortunate living!

Every dog has its day, they say. It is interesting that the so-called celebrites live their lives in this world world but when they go the other world (what is thi s I ask myself without getting answer), they are just forgotten like time flies so swiftly. I mean those so-called celebrites as belonging to the raazmatazz of the showbiz world. They are fanatically chased by their so-called fans annd followers so long as they belong to the this world and as soon as they leave their worlds, their fans also start leaving him for good. They are are just just buried as soon as they are buried in this paving way for their journey into the world of oblivion.
