How do you know when to mark the best response? Do you wait a week? Two days? I don't want anyone to think I am ignoring that part of the deal, but I do not want to mark a best response until I am sure I am not getting any more responses! Oh what a tangled web...

I think it is really up to the person who started the discssion. I usually wait at least 3 or 4 days to give time for people to respond. I persoanlly don't care for the people who pick a best response shortly after starting the discussion.
I also think that most people understand that there could be days before someone marks a best response and I don't think anyone would take that personally, and if they do then they probably won't be the ones you would be marking for best response anyways so why worry.
Do what works for you.

I wait until I have at least a page full unless it is slow and people arent replying as much. If the topic is moving fast give it a day and then choose. Am I chosing the best responce to fast?
Hope this helps.
