Leave it right were it id and stand guard until law enforcement personal come to retrieve it. Do not disturb the evidence because what is on the bag might lead to the capture and conviction of the criminals.

With me standing there most people would think twice about picking it up. If someone else does decide to take it fine, it is not me who has to answer to the law they will. By me not taking it or even touching the bag gives the police no reason to implicate me in any crime what so ever. Oh yea one more thing what ever the crime is don't touch the evidence because you can be charged with destroying evidence.

Well, I appriciate you respect towards law and order. But if the thugs take the money and run away, all you could do is either get beaten or stand and watch the money being taken away. How would it help anyone. Though there low chance of it, like you said.
And this "do not touch the evidence" thing can't be applied everywhere. What if someone snatches a lady's purse and tries to make for a run, would you go buy gloves before catching him? Or if someone is stabbed, would you look for gloves to save the man? It can't be applied everywhere. Nothings wrong if you touch in such incidents.....Just an opinion. I respect the law too, thats i havn't got even 1 ticket for speeding or whatever....heh he.....

You right. Giving it to the police is like giving it to some one who wants it more than you.
In my country the cops even smoke the weed they take away in raids so i wouldn't question what they would do with the money.
It can get you into a lot of trouble if they find out that you took it. You can spend as much time in prison as the robber had they caught him. So if you are going to take the money you would have to be extra careful.

giving it to the police is almost equal to throwing the money in the drain dude...atleast in India. You are right about the money being marked thing. could get into a lot of trouble. Infact there is a movie where two unemployed guys, a blind guy and a deaf guy find 1 mil on the road. It was marked and announced in the radio and t.v. They had to endure a lot of difficulties. But finnaly ended up being rewarded for returning the money and they were given a good job.....very inspiring movie.....

ahem.....I will take the money, not tell anyone, even my parents, or wife, hide it, and after about 6-7 months i'll slowly use the money. that too for minor nesecities like groceries and gas(fuel) etc etc. I'll not put in Bank, cause it can be traced. I'll go to a big shopping mall and buy stuff, this way, the transaction can be made quickly and i can go away before anything can be done......I am not criminal now....just my plans of using the free money.....Now, why not pool in your ideas of methods to use it? we can discuss the possibilities of them......

Moneymoney, man I like how you think. I gotta struggle every day to pay my bills and if i give it back I might not even get a reward or nothing.
True the bills may be marked and you would definitely get into a lot of trouble. I wouldn't spend it in large amounts at all. Thats like pointing the finger at yourself.
I tell you what i would do. I would take the money. I will stash it away real good for a good while. Yeah maybe 6 months to a year. Then I would use the money very sparingly, avoiding institutions like utility companies, banks, credit unions, etc.
I'd use it in places wher money change hands quickly, like like a corner store to buy groceries, the ghetto where criminals frequently go(it could be any one of them), The mall etc.
One thing is for sure, I pay the bank large interest on my mortgage. I pay the government tax. They enjoy trips around the world and stuff like that. I am not going to give the money back. Even if i didn't want it I could take it and give it to some thug who would know how to use it. He could take the risk. No doubt.
