I don't remember this being an issue when I was a kid, but now, every time I wear my hair back I get a headache, even if it's in a loose ponytail. It's to the point where I take ibuprofen as soon as I put my hair back. I don't like it down all the time and I don't want to cut it. Anyone else have this problem?

I am a guy and when i used to have longer hair and wore a ponytail so that hair wouldn't bug me while doing something, after a while it would sometimes provoke me a headache yes. I am not sure there is a medical explanation for it but the fact is that many people say that ponytails bring them headaches.

Only if the ponytail is tight. I just get headaches if it is a firm ponytail so it won't fall down and pulls my hair and hurts my scalp, and I get bad headaches. But this is only if it's really tight and I have it up for a while. Usually I'm fine.

Yes I have that problem sometimes.Especailly since I cant seem to find the time to fix my hair with me having two kids.I mostly wear it up in a ponytail but the tail is put into the band so it is kind of curled under. It is hard to describe.I even loosend the band it I didnt seem to get the headaches.I know I used to have a headband that I liked and it woudl give me headaches almost all the time after wearing it more than a couple of hours. They now make headbands that are supposed to not give you headaches but I havent tried it yet.

YES!! In fact, I DID cut my hair, because with three young kids, I never had time to do anything BUT put it in a ponytail (it was just above my butt and is curly). I would get horrible headaches everyday and finally couldn't take it anymore...now I regret it. If your hair is really thick, you might want to consider getting it thinned out (it worked really well for mine, but after it was so long it didn't help anymore). Good luck
