So, as a new user I took a couple of hours to just browse around the site and I'm still very confused. Of course, like many of my friends, and perhaps you, I joined the site to see if that whole "make money on the web" thing really works. Now I'm wondering what kind of community grows out of that. What kind of people are attracted to a place like this?
I would like your opinion on this. How do you use myLot? Is it better than other social networking sites? What sort of discussions do you prefer? How do you feel about the censoring of words and the rating of ideas as mature?

I'm a new user, too, and mostly my impression of myLot is that it's a good way to earn money if you like spamming (um, hi!), and is a mildly interesting distraction if you're terrifically bored.
I'm mostly disappointed because there's so much opportunity to take advantage of the fact that OMG, they pay us to spam, bring out the tl;dr, the conspiracy thories, thoughts on yaoi, your Answers to Life, the Universe, and Everything! You only mostly get people who lol at you and move on. :(
I kind of like the thought of transporting the more popular lj memes over here, though.
