Would you run for office if given a chance?

Would you guys run for office (any government position) if given the chance. I personally would want to run for office, knowing (and hoping) that I can make a difference but then somehow I hesitate because I know that politics is dirty...How about you guys?

Given the chance, I would run for public office. This may sound cliche' but I do want to do a lot of good while I'm in office. If only I could figure out a way to get over the politics and red tape, things would run faster and more efficiently in government.

I think that each and one of us really want to make a difference one way or another. It's just that I think when you're in office, the temptation is sooo great that officials tend to fall for it and forget the very reason why they ran for office in the first place. Thanks for the response.

I would like the opportunity to be able to change things. However I don't think I would want to do it at the moment as it would mean I wouldn't have much time for my family. Maybe when I get older I might get into politics.

Thank you for the reply. You're right...it will take time away from your family and that's something I am afraid of as well. I want to do my country and my countryment some favors but right now I think I would focus more on my family.

Yes I actually would. I want to make a difference in the community that I live in and get more citizens involved. More moratoreums on stopping so many new homes from being built in areas that cant handle the traffic, the roads too. I would also like the help the children in my area and make sure they get the best education possible

Thanks for the reply. I could not agree with you more. I personally would focus on children's education. My country is filled with poor families that couldn't afford good education. Certainly if I do go run for office this will be my platform. Thanks again.
