if you had the chance (without putting yourself at risk) what would you try and save from your house. For me I would take the poems that my man wrote, I'm trying to get them all on disc so they'll be saved but I still would like to keep the ones that are hand written because it's a part of him. They are irreplaceble because he died years ago and they mean a lot to me. What would you save if you could?

I am so sorry to hear about your man and I can just imagine how precious his poems must be to you. I have to say, my husband means everything to me, so I would want to save just about everything he bought for me. I would try to save my wedding album and my jewellery. If I had the time, I would also save all the little pictures which my grandchildren painted for me, while they were growing up.

I would try to get all of my pictures - because those are irreplaceable. I would also make sure I got my mom's wedding ring set (I do not wear it because it's too small and worn out). Of course my family and pets would be saved first. I cannot really think of anything else that would be so important that I couldn't replace it later.

I would grab the firebox that has all household important papers, my purse, my laptop and as much of my family tree research materials like photos, books, and documents. Ok, those are the THINGS I would grab. But most important to get out of a house on fire would be my children. I think this an interesting question. After all, in this type of situation, you have to make split second decisions and move very fast.

I would save my photos and the goldfish as she can hardly run out of the house on her own. I would also try to get my girls special cuddly toys as they would be gutted if they didn't have them, but I can't imagine having that kind of time.
