computer won't start normal only in safe mode anybody know what the problem is ?

Hi
i have my pc and i started it up now it's stuck at a black screen with a white stripe going on and off
i can start at safe mode but system repair dosn't do anything
i have hade thise 3 days ago also then i installed millenuim over the previeus butt now it have it again,And i don't have a cd player connected to the pc i can do it butt the power suplie isn't the same and i need to set 2 pc's up to connect the power from one pc and the ide from the other so i don't want to do that more.

u need to start the comp in safe mode and then run some diagnostic tools to pinpoint what the problem is. to me it seems like the video resolution is wrong. another issue is that u may have some pro grammes that running at startup which is causing this problem. remove all such pro grammes and then retry

It's most likely a USB peripheral hanging... unplug all your USB cables and try again.

Actually, installing Windows ME is a wrong move. It is a breeding ground for BUGS. Seriously, there's a lot of problems happening to people with Windows ME installed on their system. But here's what you could do, you could check the memory module (RAM) and clean the gold contacts with a pencil eraser. Then place it back. If it still doesn't work, try to fix the installation using the install CD for WinME. And if it's possible, try to change your OS to WinXP.
