I too feel he's got the potential to be as good as gilchrist. But having said that its also true that gilchrist has come a long way in his career and has got this tag of best wicketkeeper-batsman ever with a lot of hard work and consistent performance over the years. He's overcome some of the best names like healy, kirmani and many more so for dhoni to be as good it'll take some time.
Mahendra singh dhoni has made a spectacular entry into world cricket but his performance of late hasn't been much to boast about so he'll need to improve and enhance his game more if he has to get closer to gilchrist quickly. But with the talent of stroke making and the match winning ability he's got, those days of him being the best don't seem very far.

Surely not, he cannot be the future gilchrist of india because his technique and the way he plays the cricket ball is not good to watch and he is just a hitter of ball while gilchrist has class as well as hitter of the ball and is a even better keeper than dhoni is.

it seems like he will become a great criketer n a human being as his stroke making is tremondous, he generates a great power behind the shot
and so its obvious he will become future gilchrist.....

yes abosolutely dhoni has the potential to be a future adam , he has everything to be a great batsmen , but to be like him dhoni not only should play with his bat but also he should work behind the wickets and do wicketkeeping as good as adam.it's not so easy but dhoni can make it in my opinion.

I think he can become better than Gilchrist. As he has ability to hit marvellous shots, mighty sixers on any ball.Ya he has to be more consistent n has to improve his keeping ..Then we can get much better Gilchrist...i.e Dhoni!!!!

I do not know as when you posted this topic but as of know your topic has become the best comedy of the year.Did you watch the world cup final. If you still compare dhoni and gilchrist then, that clearly shows how little you know about cricket.Gilchrist is a stylish batsman. The word style in batting is light years away from Dhoni. Then how could you compare two irrelevant batsmen?
