Hi friends I thought I would put this discussion through to help you if you are teaching your children to save money is high on your list of priorities, we have some fantastic and inspirational ideas in the Vault! It's so hard for parents to encourage their children and grandchildren to save money, when for most youngsters their weekly pocket money burns a hole in their pocket as soon as they get it. It's hardly surprising, considering the amount of advertising the poor things are bombarded with, for all the 'cool' things they are talked into believing they need. It is difficult to hide from the ads, and your kids are going to be subjected to them for the rest of their lives. But you can help them to become Savvy Savers if you start straight away

I don't have this problem with my children as I can't afford to give them any pocket money. If anyone gives them any money it goes in their money boxes and every so often I take the money out of those and put it in their bank accounts for them. So I guess they are already saving.

Yeah the kids these days are really bombarded with way sto encourage them to spend. Myself and my friends all had piggy banks when we were little and that was a fun way to save some change.
