Yes, my pet likes to watch t.v. They do know what is going on. They recognize images too. I had a friend who had a dog, and every time a commerical came on the tv, with a dog in it, and the commercial ended the dog would get up and walk behind the tv. It was too funny and cute.

Thank you everyone for your answers. So nice to read about your animals. There must be lots of people with pets here in myLot.

Hi there...both my cats seem to enjoy watching the television if I have on nature programs with birds, bats, insects...fast moving and high-frequency sounding critters. I thought it would be nice to try some DVD's made for cats and my cats love them...they're called the Cat Sitter Video's:

I had a cat who liked to watch football on TV. He really seemed to enjoy watching the people run around after the football.
The cats I have now sometimes watch TV if there is a "ticker" on the bottom of the screen. (you know what I mean? when words or symbols are moving along the bottom of the screen?) They try to grab at the words.
Otherwise, they seem to ignore the TV.
