you should check for compatibility issues for the model of your pcmcia card. i know a lot are using pcmcia with ubuntu without problems.

its not preferred to keep multiple OS on ur laptop. It may spoil ur RAM and harddisk speed

Hi, I was using ubuntu for about a month or so until I decided to install compiz fusion. That was a huge mistake. Little did I know that compiz fusion is not compatible with all hardware. After I installed compiz fusion my computer was unbearably slow and i was forced to format my ubuntu partition and i later decided to add this free space to my windows partition. this worked but the thing is that windows does not recognize that the space was restored (I still have a few gigabytes that are unusable!) can anyone tell me what to do?!?!? please. btw i really like ur pic where did u get it?

Hi, I have been using Ubuntu for 1 year now. So far I haven't yet experienced any problem with it, except for that Mplayer problem in which Mplayer was not playing videos clearly. But after some reboots it was fine :).

I have user Ubuntu too a lot, it is a great operating system, I had a problem with the sound because my computer is old and Ubuntu doesn't work with my sound card, it was really sad because, I wasted a lot use Ubuntu like my operating system, but well, I am thinking in get a new computer so I hope don't have more problem, I am worry for compatibility with my web cam, I don't understand why Ubuntu don't make enough drivers, I know there is a lot devices but I think it is a big factor for the people don't use Linux, they should make a big effort to make the driver for more devices, I think if they make more drivers all the people will change to Ubuntu or another Linux distribution.

Before my desktop PC broke down I was using Ubuntu as my OS. It's very fast and has a very nice UI. Now I've been seeing ubuntu with Compiz+XGL and I was simply blown away it doesn't even compare to MS Vista. It was very graphical I was literally WOWed by the sight of it if you wish to see this and be amazed yourself, go to youtube and search for "ubuntu compiz xgl" and you will see what I am talking about!

I have been using Ubuntu as my primary OS since last Christmas, when I got my Dell Optiplex GX260. It is hands down my current favorite OS that works well on most hardware. The only other OS I would prefer to use, and still do on occasion, is BeOS. However, since it's getting harder to find hardware that BeOS plays well with, I have switched to Ubuntu and don't plan to change anytime soon. It works well with my desktop system, as well as my webcam, digital camera, and most everything I throw at it, with the exception of my Lexmark all in one, which I pretty well knew in advance it wouldn't work with.
