wedding dress - Wedding dress with bouquet
I had a very traditional wedding. I wore a white cathedral wedding gown, with a high neck and long sleeves. There were so many beads on it there is no way you could have counted them. I also wore a veil and I got lucky and it matched my gown too. I wore white shoes. My husband wore the traditional garb along with his four groomsmen. My 4 bridesmaids wore a deep blue dress that was tasteful; short sleeves floor length and a princess cut at the top. They were pleased with them and so was I. We invited about 450 people and over 500 showed up. I paid for my own wedding and it came out to be just over 10 grand. I did the flower arrangements and all the bouquets. We had a couple of friends help with the food, but we paid for that too. We had the reception at our church banquet hall, and it was lovely. At the end, instead of rice we released a lot of balloons. My wedding cake design was beautiful, but it did not turn out the way I wanted it too; the lady was supposed to make the rose very pale yellow and leave very pale green. Well lets jest say that not only did it look like a mardi gra cake it looked like the leaning tower of Pisa. She did not bother telling me this until I was literally about walk down the isle. I laughed.

I love traditional. I loved my wedding dress. It was very Cinderella like with beautiful gold and ivory beaded swirling details all around the ends and the top part. It had a long train. I also had a pearl and diamante tiara and a cathedral length veil with pearl beads scattered through it. My flowers were white roses and they had diamantes through them too. Sigh! I'd love to wear it again. Somehow I don't think this is the sort of thing you want your hubby to wear though. :)

I wore a regular white wedding dress for my wedding. however I wore a white western syle dress to my reception. We had kind of a weestern theme for wedding reception. I rented my wedding dress and bout my reception dress.

If I ever got married again (which is highly unlikely) but I thought I would like the old gothic high coloured velvet basque and long flowing skirt with a cape, just thought it would look really good. I'm not a big fan of traditional wedding dresses in this country (well not being a religious person I wouldn't would I) I'm not familiar with the chinese wedding dresses, perhaps you could put up a photo?!?!

traditional is the best, but MAKE IT COMFORTABLE and TRY GETTING INTO A more MODERN OUTFIT for the RECEPTION or change after the main CEREMONY

I had a traditional wedding, white dress, tuxedoes, etc. I have had a small private wedding, invitation only, family and friends. My daughter had the traditional, white dress, bridesmaids, etc. and my son had a wedding with a medieval theme, kilts, swords, waistcoats. You name it. All of them were both fun and meaningful. Good luck to you,for your hopes and dreams.

I definitely think that what you wear on your wedding day should be a total reflection of you and what the ceremony is like. When I got married last May, my husband and I had a beach ceremony by the ocean at sunset in Miami Beach. I wore a tea-length A-line white dress and heeled sandals, and he wore a tan suit and tie. Our ceremony wouldn't have warrented anything more formal than that! So make sure you do what's appropriate for the setting, and more important, what's appropriate and reflective of YOU!
