The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova

I have just finished reading this book. What is your opinion on the general premise of the book? Do you think it is possible or is it just pure fantasy?

I read this book a while back and loved it. I think it is pure fantasy but a great premise. The details about the history and locations surrounding Vlad (Dracula) were very well researched and well presented. She made it seem almost possible.

Are you talking the book "Historian"? I want to read it but no spare time! and the book's price in my location is so expensive, cannot afford! :(

I know it is a work of fiction, pure speculation with bits of historical facts woven in by the author. "The Historian" is a great read though. I was completly glued to it, start to finish. Elizabeth Kostova has a remarkable voice. I do believe that some of the facts about Vlad the Impaler are actual and were taken from recordings at the time.
