Whether it's sliced American or Boucheron, what is your favorite cheese?
I am in love with Humboldt Fog right now. It is a ripened goat cheese with an ash center. I have had various different ages of it, fresh and up to two years old, and i love it any way!

The goat gouda I had yesterday. Omg, I didn't realize how much I've missed cheese.
That Humboldt Fog sounds really yum. Where did you find it?

Whole Foods, baby! I think it's made by Cypress Grove cheesemakers.
Mmmmm, goat gouda, that sounds yum! Trader Joe's? We don't have one of those here.

The brie on french bread with apples sounds delish! Man, I should never have started this discussion, it keeps making me hungry.
I already had mac-n-cheese for dinner!

i made mozzarella once at home and it turned out pretty well, not great by any means. It was really easy and it will easily impress your friends and family.

Wow, I have never made my own cheese before. That's impressive. I bet it's delicious! Now you've inspired me to research how I can make cheese at my house.

Feta is wonderful because it is so versatile. I love it in salads and on pizza, too. I can practically taste a lamb and feta pita right now, with a side of falafel!

I'm a big fan of fresh mozzerella, aged gouda, and parmesan right now. Problem is that there are so many great cheeses out there that I think my arteries will all clog up before I get a chance to try them all. ^_^

Your arteries! lol!! That's how I feel sometimes, too.
Oooh, isn't fresh Mozzerella the best? With a little fresh tomato with some sea salt and basil? Good stuff!

I agree. Making a salad with home grown tomatoes and fresh mozzerella and basil in the summer is the best. I also love really sharp cheeses. The more they make my gums itch, the better.

Thin sliced meunster cheese. mmmm! I love it plain on a roll. We call them "meunstwiches" and now I want one!

I love meunster, I'm trying to like strongly flavored cheeses but I'm just not there yet. So plain mild cheeses like meunster are perfect for me! I like asedero and fresh Mozzarella as well. I'm slowly getting into Brie. I do like goat cheese on pizza or in certain dishes but not on it's own. And I like Asiago cheese when it's cooked into things like bagels. yum!

I love muenster, too. When I was a little girl, we lived in Germany (army brat) and the big cathedral near us was called the Muenster in Ulm.
I still think of visiting there whenever I eat muenster cheese!

Mmm, yeah, I love a nice Jarlsberg Swiss with the little holes! It IS good melted, isn't it? Provolone is the ultimate cheese for a cheese steak sandwich in my opinion, too!

I love cheese. It is hard to pick just one. My three top picks are rockefurter, feta and swiss. I like all kinds of cheese. Haven't met one yet I didn't like.

Roquefort is great, so tangy and delicious! Feta and swiss are some of my favorites, too. Man, it might have been easier for me to write about cheeses I don't like, because I can't think of anyright now.
Except head cheese, which isn't actually cheese at all. ;)

Muenster cheese is my favorite kind of cheese every. It is so tasty just plain, or melted over a sandwhich. Mm. I think I have to go and find a slice now.

I love french brie, but i also like it if its from other countries like the US and canada. Also, my whole foods has this local rosewood chedder which is amazing, and I usually don't like cheddars. so, thats my number two. Just to balance it out, my number three cheese is mozzerella, fresh preferably.

Yum, I've never had the Roswood Cheddar, I love a good cheddar.
Isn't fresh mozzerella the best? Have you ever tried buffalo mozz?

Oh Gosh...I love all cheeses (just about). I really like aged gouda. It's realy nutty tasting. I also like blue cheese, various bries, and sharp provolone-even thought it make my lips swell up a bit!

I love a real nutty aged gouda, too. Have you tried Huntsman Blue? It's a yellow Glouchester cheese riddled with blue Stilton and it is fantastic!

Kraft singles, good stuff! It's great on sandwiches alright. Just be sure you always pick up the cheese and not the cheese food. I did that once by accident and it is not good.

My favorite cheese Colby cheddar. It's what my g-ma always had at her house and it brings back memories of my childhood. But I like all kinds of cheese. I like goat cheese also. But I mostly prefer yellow cheese over white cheese.

Colby cheese is one of my faves for grilled cheese. The colby-cheddar and colby-jack blends are great for melting. I like all kinds of cheese, too.
When I was little, my mom got yellow cheese, Land-o-lakes in a big box of 84 slices. So when we went ot my grandma's and she asked me whether I wanted yellow or white cheese, I would always pick white that she got from the deli.
She let me feed the crusts of my sandwich to the birds, too. My mom tried to trick me into earting my crusts by saying it'd give me curly hair, but I didn't believe her. ;)

I love cheese, it's so wrong but I loooooove it! I'm a huge fan of manchego, extra sharp cheddar and anything smoked, also a good blue cheese is lovely in salad. I really want to try more cheeses, I just don't have much of a selection around here unfortunately.

Forgot to add, you might have more of a selection in your grocery store than you know, some places hide the good cheese near salad bars or by the deli, not in the dairy section.

Thanks :) I have scoured our groceries lol. They are really quite sad and near the holidays all the even remotely good cheese gets moved out to make room for cheese balls. *sigh* I love them too but geez! I don't have a whole food but I'll look at wild oats next time I get over there. Thanks I will probably have some questions to ask you soon as we love to have good snack trays at parties and this is our birthday season hehe.

I don't think I could pick a favourite - I love so many types. I always have a good block of old cheddar around the house as a fallback, but a good wedge of creamy camembert every once and awhile is divine, and different smoked cheeses are lovely in a cheese sauce.
The one that I'm particularily obsessed with right now (in the 'I haven't found it at my local stores yet, going to have to go to the speciality one just to pick it up') is halloumi, a type of greek cheese that fries up without needing any coating and is absolutely divine. I've had it at greek restaurants multiple times and want to make it for myself but just haven't had the time to go to the speciality deli and get it yet!

What a coincidence, I just bought some halloumi and fried it up the day before yesterday. It is delicious and such a great consistency once you've fried it.
*drools*
Camembert is another of my favorites. I am a sucker for the creamy cheeses. I got a really good one at Whole Foods from Chatham County, NY. Mellow and buttery, so good!

I love, love, love Manchego! I can't eat it plain, but it tastes so good on sliced baguette. I have some in my fridge waiting to be eaten, I just need the bread.

Feel the Manchego love! I like to nibble it alone, but yeah, it is a strong cheese and needs a crusty bread to be just right.
Add a little quince paste and I'm in Heaven!

Sometimes they sell it as quince paste and sometimes Membrillo in our Whole Foods, but as far as know they are the same thing.

Hard to pick just one! I guess my favorite would have to be a good sharp cheddar. I'm also in love with cheese curds. I miss them so much. They are hard to find in places without lots of cows nearby.

I haven't had cheese curds since Hurrication! Right after Katrina my husband and I went north to see relatives and this little gas station in the Adirondacks sold it out of their soda cooler. It was delicious!
