I think the 'bomb' will turn out to be just a small part of what's going on. Something to keep us guessing until the next season. Probably something about Linderman and what he controls and his true motives. And, of course, who (or what) he truly is.

I agree, the bomb seems important right now, but only because it is pressing and they are on a time limit, but Linderman is the real key, forget Sylar, if they ever band together then Sylar will have no real hope, especially if Peter really gets a handle on his power and become capable of sorting through the various powers he has absorbed. Between Hiro and Peter alone Sylar would have no hope of doing much of anything.
Linderman however, he's got his fingers in everyone's pies, and you never see him. He seems to be the most connected person on the show, he seems to know everything. I personally think he might have abilities of his own as well.

I think Linderman is a far more dangerous bad guy than Sylar, and I've mixed feelings about whether Claire's dad works for Linderman, or someone else. I think if they drag the bomb out beyond this season it could be bad and viewers will get bored. If they do go into another season having solved the bomb issue, I'd be anxious to see what they come up with for their next plot. This season has been so gripping I'm having a hard time believing they can top it with a second season, or even equal it.

I think we'll definitely see the 'bomb' issue as this season's big one - everyone seems to be concentrated on the idea that Peter is the bomb that I don't think any of them outside of Matt realize that the 'real' bomb exists in the form of nuclear man (forgot his real name, sorry).
I think Peter is figuring hes going to explode just from too much powers, since it's made him pass out a few times, and doesn't realize that the exploding man power is actually someone else's that he could absorb. So he'll get his powers under control, they'll think it's fine, and then ... they'll find out about nuclear boy, the problem will escalate there, and the season will end with them solving that. (or alternatively, Sylar will take out nuclear boy and he'll be the one deciding to 'fix' the world by exploding).
I agree with many of the posters that Linderman's going to turn out to be a bigger part of this puzzle. He's just too way connected. And I can see them using that to continue into next year really.
But we'll see. My predictions could all be right off - that's the fun of a show like this. You can't just guess and be right all the time!

It's crazy because with each new episode I just gasp at the end. lol Everytime I try to figure out where the plot is going next I'm wrong. For example, I thought maybe Linderman was Claire's real father but it's Nathan! OMG! *gasp* lol
