Here is another tip when choosing a good domain name. You should choose a domain name that is related to your product or services. Plus you it will be also great if your domain name is easy to remember. For ex. it would be easier to remember yahoo.com than yahromsalcha.com, you get the idea?
Here are other factors/questions that you should consider when you are choosing a domain name for your website.
1. Your Domain Name Should Be Your Website Name
2. Generic Names Or Brand Name Domains?
3. Long or Short Domain Names?
4. Hyphenated Names?
5. Plurals, "The", and "My" Forms of the Domain Name
6. COM, ORG, NET, etc?
If you want to know more you can check out the information in this site

Hope this helps.

Go to Godaddy.com and they can set you up with a domain name for a small annual fee. In fact the guys at OCC, just built them a custom motorcycle and revealed it at the superbowl last weekend.

You should base your domain name on something that describes your business. There are many tools available that will help you see if a name is available. If your web site is about MONEY, than you should have MONEY in your domain name. You also want to make sure that the nake is something short and easy to remember. Good luck.

A good domain name should be one that is not too long. It need to be catchy enough for others to remember. Ask yourself this question, do my domain name attracts people to visit my site? It is all about attraction. Just like you see a pretty face and you get attracted, even though you do not know the character of the person.

Well it has to be catchy, something people would remember and not offensive. I found that seems to be the general rule people can go by when trying to come up with their name. If it's a company's domain try to get it as close to the company name as possible for brand identity.
