Well then you will be surprised if you go to my house. We have a dishwasher and yet we only use it once a month LOL I wash the dishes by hand and dry them in the dishwasher rack. We use the dishwasher once a month just so the water doesn't go stagnant. It doesn't wash very well because we don't have water softener yet plus it doesn't scrub well either.

Unfortunately, no. I don't have a dishwasher. I was going to buy one, a couple of months ago, and my husband talked me out of it. I sure wish I ahdn't listened to him. He doesn't do the freakin dishes anyway, I do. ANd I'd have been the one paying for it, too.

Oh, by the way, I've never had one. Handwashed them all my life. Hate it too!

Even though my least favorite job around the house is unloading the dishwasher, I can't imagine living without one. There are only three of us but it seems we use a lot of dishes. My hubby knows that I dispise that task so he is pretty good about unloading it for me in the morning before he leaves for work.

I have never seen a dishwasher, what is it? I think there must be a lot of dishes in your apartments or home, we chinese people seldom use it, beacause there are only a few bowls and plates in our home. It is unnecessary.

I thought that everyone had a dishwasher and a garbage disposal until I moved to Pittsburgh four years ago. Barely anyone there has either thing. I hate washing dishes! When we moved back to Florida I think that was the thing that I most looked forward to, having a dishwasher!

In India we do not have dishwashers. My wife and I discussed the problem of work load on account of washing dishes. She preferred to continue to wash dishes with hand. I nearly forced a solution on her: 1. Eating in big leaves such as banana leaves with a newspaper below them. 2. Using water tumblers while drinking water, in such a way that they do not touch lips. This makes washing of tumblers simple 3. Use disposable plastic glasses for coffee and tea. 4. Planned multiple use of plates and spoons. Goal is to minimise number of washable dishes to just two or three.

My apartment building in NYC has a total of 60 apartments and not one has a dishwasher, washing machines are not permitted either. They are not allowed in the building. Everyone must wash by hand. Some people just don't know how good they have it.

Yes I have a dishwasher in my house. I would not like it if we didn't have one. I would have one put in if we didn't have one. They are the best for killing germs on dishes. You just can't wash in that hot of water yourself. In the winter I think it stops colds and those germs.

We have a dishwasher at our house, but honestly we never use it. It is way more cost efficient to just do them in the sink by hand. I am a stay at home mom and my hubby works so really the daily dishes aren't that much. My daughter uses 1 bowl for breakfast and one for supper and the rest of the day she has bottles. Their is 2 dishes from breakfast (mine and hubbys before he goes to work) our daughters 2 bowls, and our supper dishes so whats the point of turning on the dishwasher for a few plates and bowls?

I used to have a dishwasher but I gave it away a couple of years ago. When there's only 2 people in the house I couldn't be bothered to waste electric energy and a lot of hot water just to wash a handful of dishes at a time. Even if I only did one load of dishes a day more than half of the dishwasher would be empty. Plus half the time there'd be some pot or pan in there that I'd need to use. It just seems easier to wash them by hand and get it over with. I don't miss not having it at all.

One day I would like to get a dishwasher. That would really be a nice thing.

What planet are you from? alot of places don't have dishwashers, how do you think they use to wash dishes. everyone can't really afford a dish washer these days. they are busy spending their hard earned money on other things... like bills.

I have a dishwasher but actually we handwash the dishes 95 percent of the time. While the dishwasher is handy to have for big parties, we find that it is easier to wash by hand as there are only two of us in the house. We usually take turns where one cooks and the other washes. I really don't mind it and we save a lot of water in the process.
