We all need it.
It’s the best medicine - pure nectar of angels.
It lifts us up from our depths of despair …
You hear people say; “don’t take yourself seriously,” “lighten up,” “relax and have a laugh once in a while.” So you do, and blow me down if you don’t start to feel better...
That’s it right there!
You make a choice to laugh and lighten up,
and suddenly you feel happier!
my personal favourite kind of humour= Slapstick, followed closely by tongue-in-cheek stuff and satire
What makes you laugh?

I find something funny in everything, from slapstick to gross humor. I just love to laugh more so than cry.

Laughter certainly is the 'best medicine' I have found in life .. :o)
The kind of humour I like is the very clever, witty and subtle types of humour .. and the humour I like least is slapstick and coarse humour .. they leave me totally cold and unmoved ..
One of my all time favourite comedians was Dave Allen, that most wonderful Irish comedian sadly he passed away last year so now he will be amusing whatever people are on 'the other side' .. !

I've always said that my wild and sometimes whacky sense of humour would be the last to go, even if I lost everything else. I hate being serious, life is serious enough. I love British comedies like One Foot In The Grave, I watch that and I have tears running down my face with laughter, Fawlty Towers is still as funny watching it for the tenth time. I also laugh at other people's mishaps which is bad I know, once I walking with my friend and he fell over, I couldn't help myself I burst into laughter, he was not best pleased.

I have to say, comedian Dane Cook gets me laughing no matter what. I also tend to laugh at silly things like my puppy jumping around all crazy, or my kids being silly. Truly, laughter is one thing I find easy enough to partake in! I love life and feel it's too short NOT to laugh during it!

My cats! I have 5 of them, and they are a never ending source of joy, love, and amusementto me! My baby Lily (just 6 months old and a tiny little tabby), is the only girl amngst them, and the way she "flirts2 with the boys, and also tries to copy them by climbing trees and fences (she can't quite manage it yet, and always falls off:-(( ) always makes me smile!

Any kind of joke, any kind of situation which has slightest element of fun, makes me laugh. I firmly believe that laughter is the best medicine and when we get an opportunity to laugh we should laught loudly and I also like satire. Nothing makes you so happy, nothing cures your depressing feelings than laughter. Laughter is the best medicine in the world and no opportunity to laugh should be wasted. Best and safest situation would be to laugh at ourselvesa! Ha!Ha! Ha!...............

Nature's intersection with a Human being's so-called "structured" daily Life routine:
Such as a bee flying up a pretty girl's sundress or an opossum scaring the heck out of everone at a "move-in" day college party, or a 300 lb woman landing on the lap of a 120 lb pound man because of an angry, impatient bus driver! :)
I love to laugh and I enjoy people who have a sense of humour, and nature seems intent on giving me what I enjoy, and that's a good thing! :)LOL!

I like to laugh even when I'm depressed and in a gloomy mood, this sounds strange but it's true, I just have more "dark" humor then lol. Anything can makes me laugh or I can even a reason to laugh, if a movie is too stupid and not funny i laugh at it not within it..

I think that there are two major things that actually make me laugh out loud - one, anything that is funny that comes as a surprise, to the point that I laugh before I can even stop myself. Two, the sound and sight of other people laughing. That actually gets me laughing more easily than almost any joke or comedic situation can.
I think that the British sense of humor fits with my own ideal of what is funny, the most. I personally am not a witty person in the sense of being able to be funny all that often, but I *love* humor. Comedy has always been a passion of mine, and I watch all kinds of British comedy and love it. But there are some great American sitcoms, as well. I love good humor wherever i can find it! ^_^

Hi! I agree, laughter is very important. There are favorite movies of mine that always make me laugh no matter how many times I've seen them. Some of them are Brain Donors, Caddyshack, Dumb and Dumber, Easy Money, and Honeymoon in Vegas. :-)

I have to agree. I do believe laughter is the best medicine out there! There's not just one thing that tends to make me laugh.. But there is honestly a variety of different things that tend to make me laugh uncontrollably. Some of those things would have to be as follows:
- My other half & me tend to have a lot of inside jokes shared between the two of us. But also I think he is the only person within my life who can make me laugh to the point where I will start to cry.. I've never had someone make me laugh to the point where my tummy ached so much afterwards.. Until I met my other half. But, usually when my other half returns home from work, & I had a long day.. We will start getting our words all mixed up & everything begins to come out so silly that we can't seem to stop laughing.
For example last night I made chocolate cake as a dessert.. And I was having some while he was drying dishes & I went to talk & because there was chocolate cake on the roof of my mouth.. What I was saying came out sounding very strange.. And then my other half ended up saying something & next thing I know we're laughing for the next 10 minutes due to me with the cake & him with the comments..
I find when we're both exhausted we tend to laugh at the weirdest things yet at things that make no sense.. I love these moments though as I know my other half & me are able to laugh at ourselves.. And sometimes in life you need to be able to just laugh at yourself! . .
- I absolutely love old 80's movies. I find they always seem to make me laugh uncontrollably each time I watch them. Movies such as "The Burbs" or "Uncle Buck" or "Trains, Planes & Automobiles" or "Beetlejuice" bring back to many memories as I was a kid.. And I honestly loved the 80's because the humor back then was some-what cheesy, but I found I could relate to the characters within those types of movies..
I don't find a lot of comedies they bring out these days to be quite as funny as how the movies we're made back in the 80's personally. I know if I want a good laugh all I have to do is go through my movie collection & pick out an 80's movies & I know that in no time I will be laughing until I start to cry.
- I personally must admit that I love watching Ellen Degeneres's talk show every once in a while... She always ends up making me laugh uncontrollably when I do watch her show.. Due to the fact that she has almost the same type of humor that I have.. What makes me laugh more than anything is when she will end up dancing. I love how she goes up to the audience & allows them to get involved.. I love how her humor brings so many people in her audience together..
My favorite part is most likely though when she goes over top of the coffee table. A few times she has knocked over what she was going to be drinking throughout the show. And for me.. Seeing how she had handled the situation always makes me chuckle. Sometimes I find her so nutty..
- My puppy when she is hyper. She will roll on her back or throw herself on the floor right on her back.. And she will look to the side or directly are you.. And she will begin to kick her legs wildly in the air.. If you tickle her tummy as well she will kick her legs even harder & make these silly noises.. It's quite hilarious & I just love to see this each & every time.. It never gets tedious for me!
- Sometimes there are times where I will get tickled for no apparent reason & I just can't stop laughing afterwards.. It takes me 10 minutes to calm down & then once I get back up I will just start laughing all over again.. It makes no sense, but I sweat after I have been able to laugh as much as I had.. I feel so light headed & my mood begins to change to being a lot happier then I was.
- Watching shows such as "MAD TV." And having someone like the character "Stuart" come on & just act absolutely ridiculous. Every time I watch him I find his character gets even funnier by the second. I don't think there has been one episode that I haven't laughed so hard to the point where I have to hold my stomach afterwards.
In conclusion.. I feel I could keep on listing the things that make me laugh uncontrollably sometimes.. But I think I would be here all day as I know I tend to laugh quite often at things that some people may find strange..
I think personally being able to laugh quite often is a healthy thing as it helps to relieve stress, but I believe it's also healthy to be able to laugh at yourself sometimes.. I am glad I have these things within my life that are able to make me laugh as much as I do.. As some days all a person needs is just a good laugh to feel better in general about things. And in all honesty.. Sometimes just being alive is hilarious to me! . .
Thanks for allowing me to share! xx

What makes me laugh ? I read Terry Pratchett's books, always guaranteed to give me a giggle. Some comedy programmes on tv, like Red Dwarf, make me laugh. Silly things like my partner walking into the front room dressed like Johnny Depp for example, now that made me laugh
