Lap top - A photo of lap top showing vulnerability
Lop top is my preference you store them easier that a desktop and it functions the same way. Although for long use I of course still want a desk top where I can use it continually the hole day. The lop tap is more vulnerable to over heating then the desk top.

depends on your usage pattern. in my case, i've got a desk job, very little travelling and very little working from home (only when i don't do stuff in office and post on mylot instead of working :-P). in that situation, i guess a desktop is the best thing. the biggest benefit of a desktop vs. a laptop is power for a lower price. the benefit of a laptop is the mobility and space it takes up. at home, my folks would like me to pick up a laptop, as the desktop takes up a lot of space. this can be addressed by getting a well designed table, which can really compress a destops space usage and make it spread out about as much a lap top would. however, a laptop does allow you to work from anywhere in the house - even in bed or the bathroom, and if you set up a wireless network, can let you connect onto the internet from anywhere too. the biggest drawback of a lap top is its weight and being an albatross around your neck - literally!. most of my friends complain about having to lug the lap top all over the place with them, since it isn't very safe to leave it in a parked car. and another drawback, would be the fact that with a laptop, your boss will start expecting you to work from home on weekends and after work hours :-P - something i definitely am allergic to.

Hi there...I personally prefer the use of a laptop because not of it's portability, but compact size which doesn't take up so much desktop space. They offer just as much features as the desktop the only thing that would be lacking is the ability to change/upgrade more of the hardware unlike desktops. However, this is not important for me since I'm a software engineer/consultant primarily for Macintosh computers.

Hi, I prefer using a desktop at work as I do graphic design and therefore need a bigger screen to work on! Although I do like my laptop at home as I can perch it on my lap and watch tv at the same time! It's also handy if I want to go away for a day or two cause I can take it with me!

I prefer desktop...just as a simple reason.. I don't need laptop. I don't have to work out of my home/office, then why should I spend near about 3 time more amount for laptop. In that much money I can get desktop with additional RAM and much more. If I'm marketing person, insurance agent or business man I will certainly switch over to Laptop.

HHMM i got little knowledge about computer but i think desktops will be the best in the coming future also as the components of the laptops are very expensive comparing with laptops. Will be easier to upgrade hardware or software(in terms of expense) in desktop than laptops. LOlZZ am poor in computer stuffs.
