I leave about 5 dollars when I stay in hotel. I wish I can do more but I cant afford more. It just to show the appriciation for people works there so it just your thought. If you want to leave tip, you can and if you dont want, you dont have to. My friends dont leave any tip at all.

This may just be an English policy but as far as I'm concerned, the staff are already getting wages and the hotel is already making money from the over priced things in the hotel so why leave more? Do you tip the checkout girl in the supermarket? Would you tip the operator at a toll booth? I wouldn't so why in a hotel? Most people in England I know seem to think the same way as I do.

I dont think it is necessary but it is nice. I know I would love it if the people that stay at the hotel I work at left me a tip, I would be so happy.

Pay me or suffer .... - room attendant
If you stay in the hotel for an extended amount of time then yeah. If you stay one or two nights and don't make a mess I wouldn't worry about it. If you do make a mess, then I would say you better. heh heh

When I'm staying in a hotel I leave a tip on the pillow for every day that we stay. Overall, it adds up to about 10-12 bucks

I think the right thing especially if you feel you got Good service, is to leave a tip for the Maid. They are only earning Minimum wage, and do hard work to keep you satisfied with your Hotel stay, so I always try to tip them a little bit. If they have done an exceptional job, then I might leave them a Note of some sort as well.

We have never left a tip, but I always try to pick up everything I can very neatly before we leave. That way I figure the cleaning lady doesn't have to work quite as hard.

Hi homerbundy They are paid by hotel authorities and we are giving tip for the outstanding service rendered by them . If they are not upto the mark no need to pay the tip at all.

I generally believe that we should give adequate tips to the waiter and the maids. I generally dont live in Hotels but , I give tips to the person whenever they finish the work only. I think that if live a tip in my room instead of handing it out at the same memnt only, I may be giving the tip to a wrong person.I also ensure that the room in which I live is neat and clean and there is not too much of work left for the maid.

I just recently heard that you get better service if you tip every day, with a note indicating the money is for the maid. The rate I heard to tip was $1 for every person who is staying the room that day. The premise was that on your last day of staying at a hotel the person who cleans up may not be the same one who maintained your room during your stay.

Yes! I think maids work very hard and they deserve a little something. I mean waiters and waitresses get paid tips so why not maids
