I was watching a show last night, one of those reality shows, the couple on the show made as much money as I did and they were completely debit free, they owned a bueatiful house and two new cars, they had everything. Is it really possible to be totally debit free on an average income. How do you think you would accomplish this.

it is possible my dear.. as of now fortunately, my husband and i are debit free, we earn average income only but because of budgeting and saving a little for what we are earning, we are totally debit free. honestly, my husband and i are buying only basic things, we do not buy things we can live without. helping each other and having a good relationship is the key.. good day and have fun here in mylot.

The easiest way is to not get in debt in the first place. Unfortunately, most of us don't have that luxury. The most important thing you can do is set a budget for yourself and keep to it. The money that's left over every month should go towards paying off your highest rate debt. After that it is a snowball effect. Once that debt is paid, you won't have that monthly payment anymore. You can then use that extra money towards your next highest rate debt and so on until you've got a ton of extra money going to pay off your last debt. You also need to know how to prioritize which debts are bad and good. Like I said, you want to pay down your high rate debts. Keep in mind that you want to hold off paying down debts that have a tax advantage like your mortgage until last. So, to answer your question, it is possible to become debt-free on your income. It just depends on you debts too. If you are paying out more than you're taking in, you've got to make major life changes to make it work. Concentrate on your budget and the rest will fall into place. Best of luck!

Thank you I will take your suggestions and see what I can do. I think my biggest problem is going to be my mortgage, I can't image a day with a mortgage.
