I prefer amd. I've been use amd brand for many years now. I can see a differents between amd and intel. In term of performance, we can say both reached user satifaction, but in term of an excitement, still amd have the place. Then easier to overclock make it so good.

well i had an intel machine earlier.i purchased it before 5 years.it was good cool, because on that time there was heating problem with AMD. but when last year i went for upgrading for new machine i didnt found that cool difference between AMD & intel with HT technology on intel & 64bit technology on AMD both were giving the same performance.& it has been so in last whole year up to now intel producing dual core same as AMD producing Athalon X2 .but when it comes to indian market the consumer is always care about the price, which determines the purchase.so according to this AMD is always the best buy for indians.and that includes me.

Like everyone will tell you: it depends what you want to do and how much money you have.
For example: if you're running scientific simulations, the current intel P4 chips generally give better bang-for-buck than AMD equivalents because their higher clock speeds.
If you're concerned about breaking the 4GB memory barrier, you might want to forget consumer chips altogether.
If you're buying a retro chip, you might want to go for AMD because the motherboards generally allowed higher maximum system memory.
Personally, I think Intel have got the edge in the current market, but that's partly just because of circumstances.

First of all, The hardware you mentioned are computer processors and not computer companies. Neither one is a computer manufacturer. Now, as far as preferences in processors are concerned, AMD is the prefered choice. However, there are 2 models if you will that AMD makes. The Sempron is not as good as the other, and is noisier nd slower. I used to have a computer that had an Intel Pentium 3. It was the noisiest processor I ever heard. LOL!

I personally prefer AMD. I've been using AMD for over 5 years now and been very happy with them. The Athlon64 processors run cooler than any Intel processor on the market and beats the Intel Pentium 4 hands down.
That said the fastest processor currently on the market is the Intel Core 2 Duo. It beats the best AMD processors in every benchmark. The only drawback to buying a computer with one is that they include Intel graphics which are the worst. AMD computers include ATI or Nvidia graphics which are much better for gaming.
Since I build my own computers I don't have a favorite computer company. My laptop is a Gateway, but I'd typically recommend Dell or HP to most people.

I prefer Intel... first reason, I used to work with intel hehehe... opppsss don't get me wrong.. i have tried both because i used to have a computer rental business. at least 80% of my problems comes from my pc's using AMD... in fact, i had one strange problem before, imagine one motherboard had all the +5V burnt! and im not overclocking yet...
to give you a background, all of my PCs are running almost 24 hours a day, for six days, because I make it a point that once every week, i will do preventive maintenance for my pcs.

i prefer AMD since i am using one.I use AMD because
--comparatively cheap
--high performance
--high stabilty
--greater support for gaming
i recommned AMD FX 64 bit computing. It has many advantage over intel pentium 4 processors.but i heard that intel pentium duo core2 is much better than other precedures and a like performance with AMD 64.so i f you are going to buy a new computer either you go for AMD FX 64 or Pentium 4 Duo core 2.
thank you!
