Can you name 5 songs that make you happy every time you hear them-- and tell me why? Mine are:
1. Daydream (Lovin' Spoonful)- Because my Grandpop used to sing it to me
2. Come Clean (Hilary Duff) - Because my daughter loves to dance to it
3. Theme to a Summer place (Percy Faith Orchestra)- Because it does.
4. Holly Jolly Christmas (Burl Ives)- Because it's the happiest Christmas song out there!
5. Anything by The Partidge Family- Bubblegum pop for sure, but memories of me swooning to David Cassidy come flooding back!

This has actually turned out to be a really though question for me. Despite my adoration of music, most of my favourite songs these day seem to be quite dark and although I love them, they don't actually make me "happy" so to speak.
Shania Twain - Any Man of Mine
Matchbox 20 - Unwell
David Campbell - One More Day
Nina Gordon - Tonight and the Rest of My Life
The Veronicas - Mouth Shut

I accidently hit post comment, and the realisation hit that once I hit that the damage is done. I can't go back. :/
Anyway, reasons:
Any Man of Mine - One of my favourite Shania songs and definetly one of the more up beat favourites of mine. Its a bit of fun.
Unwell - This happened to come out around the same time around a really dark time I was going through. At the time it made me feel not quite so alone and unusual. It comforted me and made me feel a sense of "normal." Today it makes me happy as it reminds me of that place I was in, the comfort it gave me, and how far I've come since then.
One More Day - This is soft, lyrically beautiful and full of hopes. Lifts me up and makes me hopeful when I'm feeling down.
Mouth Shut - The Veronicas are just a bit of fun. This just happens to be one of my favourites.
Tonight and the Rest of My Life - Honestly not to sure, why it belongs in my happy category.

5 songs that make my whole world stop....
1. In My Life by the Beatles - because I love the Beatles! This song makes me feel as if I lived in their time, the era where having fun seemed the only thing that mattered ;)
2. Immortality by Celine Dion and The Beegess - it's actually a tragic song but I like the idea of love lingering on even after all things are over.
3. Always on Time By Jarule and Ashanti - my closest friend in college loved to sing this and whenever I hear it, all the happy memories rush back in - skipping classes for billiards, drinking sessions at the cheap videoke bars near the school, afternoon delights at school fairs ;)
4. I Won't Last a Day Without You - because it's my mother's song for me... Awwww
5. Hey by Fatima Rainey - this got famous when I was in highschool, it reminds me of my happy days with my high school friends - proms, plays, the afternoon chillouts at the football field, our late afternoon playtime at an isolated spot in the university, the "lovers' lane" ;)
