One of my neighbour had registered his name in a few matrimonial centers during the days of his bachelorhood. It is three years now, since he got married and has a daughter, but even to this day, he has not withdrawn his name from these bureaus. Due to which marriage proposals from prospective brides keep coming in and as there is a practice of dowry in his caste, the offers lure him with handsome amounts. Now this has been used as a trump card my his mother, as he had married a girl against his mother's wish and her father as is from a middle class, did offer dowry to the max of his limits.
But today, his mother has been torturing her daughter-in-law and threatens that she would get her son re-married and wants her quit the house. The poor girl, is unable to leave because of two reasons,
1.She has a baby daughter
2.She has two younger sisters yet to be married.
She is well talented and qulaified, but her husband and inlaws just dont want her to work.

Obviously they had a love marriage. So wheres the husbands love. Is a few thousand rupees or even lakhs should not even shake their relationships, let alone his mother. He needs a good and solid talking by someone he listens to. And wife should use her authority on her husband.
