There are many actresses who have played Catwoman over the years, both on tv and in the movies. We've had Eartha Kitt, Julie Newmar, Michelle Pfeiffer and the most current Halle Berry. So which one for you is the best Catwoman actress? For myself when I think of catwoman I think of Julie Newmar. She's the image that comes to mind. She took the character and made it believable and unique in my opinion. The others were good but for me she is Catwoman and always will be. So who is catwoman for you?

absolutely Julie Newmar. Eartha Kitt was over the top, which was what was called for in the Batman live-action series, but didn't really make the character sexy or real. If future installations I would love to see Claudia Black from Farscape and Stargate play the role. I also think she would have made a fantastic Aeon Flux.

Well I agree that I do prefer Julie Newmar. To me she was the mold that later ones were based off of. Eartha Kitt did a great job and she had the right voice for it, she was really able to sound like a cat, but something about how Julie Newmar moved that seemed more like a cat. she was so graceful in the role.

I think Julie Newmar was the coolest Catwoman ever!I love those old episodes. Now my husband loves Halle Berry, but even he didn't buy her in the role of Catwoman.

Iloved the way Michell Pfeiffer looked and wish I could look taht good, even in my own head, just for a minute but Halle Berry was excellent too, the special effects in her Cat Woman film were amazing! Not sure about the others, sorry.

I know what you mean. I wish I could look half as good as she did in that outfit. Or how Halle Berry looked in hers.

I just detested Eartha Kitt as Catwoman. I was a real Batman watcher when I was a kid. I was always soooo disapointed if it was not Julie Newmar. She is and always will be Catwoman to me. I always thought her and Batman had a bit of attraction for each other. Michelle Pfeiffer would be second and Halle Berry third. Sorry Eartha but you are not even in the running.

Heheh boy does that sound like me. I loved watching Batman and if it wasn't Julie Newmar as Catwoman half the time I didn't watch it. Sad I know. They did do a tv series not that long ago about a daughter who's parents were Batman and Catwoman. It was really good but it was on at a bad time. I can't remember what the name of it was. Mind is blank. Maybe someone will take pity on me and post in here what it was.

Earth Kitt by a mile, definitely the one and only Cat Woman.

The original, Eartha Kitt is irreplacable, but I thik Halley Barry did a great job. But, I do agree that when I think of catwoman, Eartha Kitt comes to my mind immediately.

I have found with catwoman many people have one that always comes to mind when the name is said. For different people it's different ones but when they hear the name they automatically think of one actress not several. Eartha Kitt did a great job I agree. She had the voice for it. She could sound very catlike when she talked. I still prefer Julie Newmar but I can appreciate Kitt's ability in the role.

I loved Eartha Kitt as Catwoman. She had a purrrrr that was so great. I vaguely remember Julie Newmar, I guess that it was because Eartha made such an impressive Catwoman that no other could do the same in my eyes.

I think the original catwoman is the one I recall most vividly and think about as "catwoman" first. But I have to say I think Halle Berry did a wonderful job as did all the others. Michelle Pfeiffer was probably my least favorite.

Eartha Kitt, the part was written for her, did you know? However, politics had to rear its awful head and she was let go. How stupid!

i was able to catch adam west play batman on tv but the memory of catwoman or whoever was the actress appearing there is vague already. i'm more familiar with michelle pfeiffer and halle berry playing the part. as between the 2, i vote for michelle over halle. i fell asleep in the movie with halle berry playing the part. her face showed from fret than a look that would excite a batman, which, on the other hand, michelle has. halle berry wasn't also convincing in doing martial arts. or maybe the direction and production was also not that well, as compared to how they made michelle look sleek and sexy, yet with a stare that's innocent, in the daytime, but can also be flirtatious and with an "i'm a biatch" message when with the cat suit on. in batman 1 with michael keaton, the image of michelle in the catwoman outfit is even an attraction equal to the excitement of seeing batman on film. i don't think the guys will ever forget the scene where she did cartwheels til she landed before penguin and batman and after saying "meow" there was an explosiong behind her..and of course, the lips and catty eyes..just perfect, for me, as catwoman..

I agree between Halle Berry and Michelle Pfieffer, Michelle was so much better. I have yet to be able to get through all of the Halle Berry one although my neice loves the movie. It just doesn't hold my attention. In Batman Returns Michelle just seems to be far more at ease in the role but also seemed to have the agility and grace to pull it off.

Michelle Pfeiffer... She was gorgeous, had this eery yet wonderfully seductive cat-like look to her... I thought she pulled it off very well and she looked beautiful in the black catsuit. I was.... ugh I couldn't stand Halle Barry as Catwoman... and the movie was awful to me. I was happy to find out however that the Halle Barry Catwoman movie was not associated with DC Comics in anyway but the name... it was just a story about a woman who turned into a Catwoman... eh I just don't believe she pulled it off very well at all. So for me it was Michelle Pfeiffer... maybe b/c I saw that movie when I was in 2nd grade and I grew up with her as Catwoman... to me it was her and no one else.

I didn't know it wasn't associated with the comic books but in a way that makes sense. From what I could tell it was different from the usual image of Catwoman. I understand about that with Pfeiffer being the one you grew up with. That's how I am with Julie Newmar. She was the main one I saw while growing up.

Although I am a big Michelle Pfeiffer fan, the answer without a shodow of a doubt is Julie Newmar. The camera does not lie and even 40 years later you can see that Julie had the most incredible figure, which Michelle and Halle Berry cannot match.

Actually my Catwoman is Michelle Pfeiffer. There is no arguing that she made an extraordinary performance in that movie, saving it from failure.
