i heard of a girl naming her baby Pretty. Also there was a girl on MTV's Real World/Road Rules named Piggy. Can you image being named Piggy??? Other names I have heard was this woman named her kids orangello, lemongello, limegello. J-E-l-l-o.....Do parents not realize that these kids have to LOVE with their names? I heard about another mother who named her kids after perfumes..like J'adore, Dior, etc. RIGHHHHT....

I like Zoey, but Elmo? I don't know about that... apparantly it is chic among certain high society to name your kids after designers... Dior, Chanel, etc.

This question has really made me think, I have come across a lot of strange names for kids in my time and it was hard to choose the strangest. I think it was probably a boy who was in my primary school who was named 'digger' by his older brother as it was his favourite toy and his mother decided to call him that.

I grew up with a Levi. I like it... Primrose is another of those new organic names I just can't seem to get the feel of. I've met kids named Barley, Jade, Juniper, Lotus... I like the back to nature thing, but think Fox would be a way cooler name to grow up with than Barley... just my opinion.

My best friend's daughter is a Liberty.. I like it! She goes by her middle name sometimes, but I think it's a strong name for a girl. Sugar and Happi are too whimsical for me... I'd worry my child would never be taken seriously.

Parsley?! Parsley?! That is a great name for a rabbit!!
I can't stand the "names" Princess and Nevaeh. Princess is just ridiculous and everytime I hear someone say their child's name is Nevaeh they always go "Nevaeh. Thats heaven backwards." So annoying.

How about how thousands of moms name their daughter's 'Unique' every year? with so many girls growing up thinking they're unique little princesses, or 'heaven spelled backwards', I shudder to think about all the catfighting that will undoubtedly ensue when they realize they're not the only little princess on earth... or even in their grade at school!

I have encountered a family that named all of their children with the anagram of the some names related to them. For example, their family name is Thames and they named their son Setham. Here in our country, there is also a tendency for names to be added with an "H". Like Jhames, Jhasper, etc. Weird!

I have been involved in children's ministry for over 40 years, so I've come across a few unusual names. The best (or worst):
Milcah Bull (sure you can milk a cow, but milk a bull?)
Anita Kitchen (well, who wants an untidy kitchen?)

I would say the most comic name I heard was 'A rose is a rose'. Actually it was a fun name and actual name was rosy, but it was a small name and the whole family wanted it a bit long. So that's what they settled for!!

A friend named her son "WISHBONE" called him "WISH" for short. It seemed ok but I do not know why the parents picked that name. It was not part of another name at all. I asked where it came from and never got a response.
