Who is going to watch the new series of Survivor starting tonight?

I admit that I had been a huge fan of the reality show Survivor for about three series, but I didn't watch last time at all. The series before, I found myself paying less and less attention, until I wondered why I was forcing myself to keep watching. So I gave the series after that a pass. But this new series looks pretty exciting, and I'm wondering if I should start watching tonight. Is anyone else here getting excited?
BTW, my favorite winner has to have been Tom from a couple series back.

I really admire anyone who can go on that show, as well. I doubt that I would last a day in the conditions that those people live in for so long! I bet that it would help me to lose a lot more weight, though, lol! Now that would be one reason to do it! But I really wouldn't be good at the plotting and backstabbing aspect, so I'd rather not. That's why I wouldn't even go on Big Brother, even though you don't have to live in a harsh condition to do it. It's all too much about backstabbing, and I'd much rather be friendly. ^_^

I also have another show that I would like to watch at 7:30, so I'm not sure what I'm going to do about that half an hour. Thankfully, with Survivor being on CHS which is on channel three here, even if I start recording and turn my VCR off, I can still watch CBS. That means that I can record my other show and keep watching Survivor. The only bad thing is, I'll be stuck watching the commericals for that half an hour, lol! But I can live with it. ^_^

I tried to get interested in Survivor the first and second seasons, but it's just not for me. I wanted to see what all of the talk was about, and why so many people were hooked on it. I actually don't enjoy any of the reality TV shows. Just my preferences, I guess. For the Survivor fans out there: I hope you enjoy the new series! I'm sure I'll hear all about it here!

Laurie, I think that the first and second series were the ones that I missed, because I felt like I would find it really boring, watching people live on an island. I remember hearing talk about it _constantly_ during the first series. I swear that everyone in the US must have heard the name "Richard Hatch" a billion times, lol! Even though I never saw series one, I definitely knew Richard Hatch by the time he was on the Survivor All Stars edition! *laugh* But wow, once I did start to watch I was hooked big time. At least for a few series. The 'pirate' one with Rupert I thought would be my favorite series of all time, but then came the one with Tom and Ian. Tom is still the only winner yet that I've really liked, of the series I watched. I wanted Ian to win, but Tom was really a great winner. ^_^

No I stopped watching that after the first year. I just don't get into reality tv for some reason. I do think I am the only one that isn't going to watch it, LOL. It was the talk all day today amongst my freinds.

Don't feel bad, sunshinecup, lol! I didn't even realize that the show was back on starting tonight until I happened to be looking at the online TV guide at Zap2it to see if there was a new episode of "Scrubs" coming on or not! I saw Survivor listed on CHS and I was like, what? LOL. That's how out of touch I had become with the show. It seems to me like it just went off the air, since I didn't watch the last series and I really thought that it just ended a short bit ago! *laugh* So I would not be even thinking about watching if it hadn't happened to catch my eye, and it really does look like it's going to be better than last series.

lol, Tom was my favorite winner too!!!! That's so funny because I am the exact same way. Last season I hardly watched it at all, but I am thinking that perhaps I will test this one out and see if it's changed any. I just found that despite the different people, the show was getting repetitive. My daughter loves the show so I guess I will watch it with her and see if I can regain my interest in the show.

Wow! You really do feel much the same as I do! Even the games seemed to be getting really repetitive and boring. The only part that I would've considered watching last series would have been the final episode, but i figured that there wouldn't be much point since my favorite part of all tended to be the reunion show. And there wouldn't be much point for me in watching the reunion if I knew almost nothing about any of the contestants, lol! Anyway, I just read something about one tribe living in luxury and one being poor, or something, and this has gotten me even more intruiged. I may very well be watching tonight! I can at least give it a go. ^_^

I'm wondering why so many people thought last season was boring. Could it be there was so much hype about splitting the tribes by race and then that never really played a part in the game?
It's funny because when they are showing these commercials, with all the hype about this big test of humanity, they have already finished taping the show (except for the finale) and they know that the race issue didn't really play a role. Weird, huh?

I will definitely be watching Survivor tonight as I have been looking forward to this since the last one ended. I can not get enough of this show. I heard that one contestant already dropped out of the game because of panic attacks. Instead of 20 people they will only have 19 people on the show. The last show was great and hoped that Ozzie would win but he ended up second. This show looks very interesting as they have made some changes to this show.

Each season I get angry because the person I want to win doesn't and I swear that I won't watch it the following season. Then when it comes on and I'm sitting here at the computer with my back to the TV and I can hear it as my son and daughter watch, I end up turning around and watching! URGGGG! I'm sure I'll end up watching tonight!

I have watched it every year since Rupert. He was my all time favorit person. Last years survivor though was very boring. I did not relate nor really like any of the people. I am hoping that the show that started tonight will be better. I think if it is not that this will be my last year watching. Since today was day one, the show was ok but nothing to write home about. I hope it gets better.

I am a closet Survivor fan as well.... whew it feels great to come out of the closet!!! lol Yes I think we all in some way shape of form have a reality show addiction... from Survivor to Donald to Beauty and the Geek to H*ll's Kitchen.... there is something out there for just about everyone..... My personal favotie would have to be Donald Trump... he's nothing to look at but when he is on can not pull my eyes off the screen!

I watched it last night. I like the show. My husband use to watch it with me but he doesn't enjoy it anymore. Now I need to watch Smallville because I have to tape that one while the other is on.

i used to be a huge survivor fan but for the past 2 seasons i just havent been able to get into it as much. i dont know if they are not finding as interesting characters or that ive seen it so much it is boring, i mean its basically the same thing over and over with some colorful characters mixed in.
