scratch, scratch, scratch. There did I soothe that nasty itch of yours. *lol* It depends upon how fast your topic gets pushed to the back of the line. It is a battle to try to keep your topic at the front of the line to keep gaining more and more responses. I hope this one will help to flip you back up top so that you can gain a couple of replies. Again, scratch, scratch, scratch.

There were days in mylot when someone posts a discussion topic, 15 to 20 persons were waiting to answer. There were only 3000 members when I joined and I used to get PM asking me why I have not posted any discussion. Now there are 68000 people at mylot, when you post a discussion in seconds, it disappears into 2nd 3rd or 4th or even 20th page, due to pumping in of many topics by thousands of people or hundreds of people at a time. I have posted 1800 discussion topics, more than 200 of my posts have gathered 1 response or nil response. I am requesting my friends to search for old posts of mine which have 0 response to give some lift. So do not get frustrated. It is bad as well as good topics get stuck sometime. Otherwise most of the topics receive 8 to 10 responses only, unless someone does the follow up.

Because Mylot isn't a police state and those people just want to earn a few cents. That's why we have the ability to rate all responses and posts - it's easy enough to give the responses that add nothing a negative rating. And the people who do offer up those crappy responses don't make much, if anything, off of them. While those of us who do exert the effort are rewarded, and rewarded well.

I totally know where you are coming from. I have gotten so frustrated at times that I just stopped starting discussions and focused on responding to the quality ones that I come across. I just can't find it in myself to start a discussion about my favorite color, even though I know that would most likely get a lot of responses. I plan to be here for the long run and I prefer to build a reputation of quality. I know it may take longer to get the higher earnings and more responses to my discussions but I think it is worth the wait. I know that the majority of the people on my friends list don't bother to respond to my discussions but that is okay. I guess it is their choice. I haven't requested any friends yet but I am going to start. I just wanted to wait until I noticed that I was responding to the same persons discussions. I don't want to request a friend just for the sake of increasing my list. I have noticed lately that some of my friends are going back and responding to my older discussions so I think that is pretty cool. For that reason I usually try to wait a while before choosing a best response. I think in the end, those of us who worry about quality will out last those that only worry about quantity. Just keep doing what you are doing and I think you will be okay.

i too see this happen here, but you know something don't worry about that. if you do what you are doing and ask good questions, and give good answers what other people do here is not important. what you should do is make sure that your friends have your alert on so when you start a new topic they will be emailed and can reply right away. that helps alot. and if you do the same for them you can reply to post all day and bring your ratings up as well as your money. focus on the good you can do yourself rather then the negative others are doing and you will do great

Don't want to be nasty but I think the reason why people respond to stupid discussions is very obvious. oops! Some discussions don't need the higher order of thinking and that's what other people would rather respond to. Well, can we really blame them? Don't be too discouraged. I think it's just a case of us writing something that a lot of My Lotters are interested in , I love poems and jokes but when I do them as discussions I get hardly any responses yet someone can say " what is your favourite colour " and they get hundreds of replies lol as I said I think it is just luck sometimes , good luck . xx

I give up .. I don't know why .. because the 'dafter' I make my discussions the more folks seem to reply .. yet the really serious discussions get one or two replies at best .. It's all very odd .. yet .. the way the earnings is set up it hardly matters how many folks answer as only the first counts .. maybe that's it .. Just get a topic going then dash off to the next one .. seems to be a lot of that going on .. hmmm .. does seem very odd though ..

Hi. I have been sick for the last few days and I am just getting around to replying back to all my friends discussions. I have a whole bunch to get through. I am replying to all of them as fast as I can. I probably have several of yours sitting here in my mailbox. I respond to all of my friends every day when I am not sick. I hope more people respond to you also.
