I think its probably late 20s or early thirties in this day and age but maybe thats just what Im conditioned to think, it was normal in the past to have them when you were a lot younger. Also, I heard that women are actually most fertile in your early 20s!

Most women are actually most fertile in their mid to late teens!
I think the best time in western society to have kids is from your mid 20's to mid 30's. At this age, most people are mature enough to cope with the responsibility of children, while still being young enough to cope with them when they hit their teens!!

I think the ideal age would be around mid 20's. But then again it does vary on each person's situation. I personally wouldn't be able to deal with having a child before age 20. For others who do, I give them props for experiencing parenthood so early in their lives.

Mid 20s is quite young tho, most people are still going out and getting pished every weekend at that age. Although it would obviously be a good incentive to stop that but I think you should have stopped that anyway before having kids to show you are responsible enough.

I'd say in your 30's. But, in reality, people become ready at different times. The reason I said 30's is because most people are more financially stable at that point and would be better able to support a family.

I think your right in that respect, most people are financially stable by 30, if your planning a big family Id start earlier though becasue you will be getting less and less fertile as the years go by.

I wud say that the right age is from 24 onwards.. Because at this time you wud have been settled in your life and also you might have completed your career goals that you have set and the maturity level is also quite good... So according to me it wud be after 24.. WHat u say???

Did you lok at my age before you answered that by any chance? A lot of people have not completed their career goals by 24, some, like me still dont even know what they want to do as a career! Its probably the right age for some in this society but not the majority.

You are right that women are most fertile in their 20s. You don't have as many "good" or viable eggs as you get older. The percentage decreases that you will get pregnant month to month. There are more risks of birth defects after 35 too so I guess the best or ideal situation is 20s and 30s.

Hey Spikey... my opinion is the later the better these days.... mid to late 30's.... reasoning being is that now a days the younger generation has so much debt to start off their lives... well most of them anyways.... let them work some of that off.... becuse having children is a oney pit in its self!!! lol

I think late 30s is a bit too late, one of the reasons being that when your child gets to 20 youd be almost 60, there's nothing really wrong with that but Id rather have my parents for a bit longer before they become too old.
