How much sleep can you go without?

I love my sleep and can't really function without it. I get very crabby. I can sleep for about 5 hours and be ok but if it's less than that I just feel out of it and withdrawn. What about you?

I need tons of sleep, too. I usually work until midnight or 1am and my kids have me up by 630am. my lucky thing, though, is that i am a stay at home mom so I can take a nap during the day with my daughter while my son is at school to gain back some energy. I seem to be ok when I get up in the morning, but by about 11am or so, I am wiped out! LOL

I need about 8 hours sleep if I'm going to function effectively the next day. I can get by on about 5 or 6 hours sleep, but I'm generally a bit moody and withdrawn for most of the day. If I sleep for more than 12 hours, that has the same effect.

Well it really depends as some nights i`m lucky if i can get four to five hrs sleep but seem to function just as well as if i got eight hours but when you have kids you seem to be sleep deprived from the time they arrive until the time they move out and probably for some time after that also

I'm the same way, although I prefer to get a minimum of six hours. Anything less than five though and I feel cranky all day. Those are the days when I never seem to get anything accomplished and everything gets on my nerves. I try to get to bed every night by midnight as I have to get up at seven during the week and it usually takes me a little bit to fall asleep. Most nights I do get enough sleep.

I need around 5-8 hours of sleep and having less really gets me crabby as well. But since I started to work in contact center, I was assigned to work at night and I sleep during the day. I find it hard to get the usual hours of sleep I normally have and this is where I learned the art of power napping. I try to take a power nap whenever I get the chance.

I need at least 7 hours sleep a night in order to function the next day. Any less and I get irritable and tense. On the other hand, once I sleep 8 hours I am fully rested. There are times when I sleep 9 hours but no more than that. My body feels like I am walking in a fog if I sleep longer than 9 hours.

i really dont know, when my cousin came here before to sleep over we slept at 5am. we werent tired just forcing ourself to sleep (we didnt have sweets or sugar or anything like that). and when my brothers had their party one day here in our house, we made it through the whole night and we saw the sun rise. i guess i can go without sleeping depending on what im doing that night.

I need at least 7 hours usually. I need more now that we have a 7 week old & co-sleep. I am up every 2-3 hours or so with her. The past few days she has been up crying from about 5:30 AM until 7:30 AM & I am beat then.
