Hi. My bf told me today how he wants us to spend our valentine --- curled up in bed with a good romantic movie -- and i'm ALL for it :) we discussed for 1 hr but could not come up with one, though. Can someone suggest a good romantic movie - I searched online and read that 'Before Sunrise' is a good movie. is it ? Or what would you recommend ??

"A Walk to Remember" would be perfect. I keep hearing about "the Notebook", and I see that it came up again in this discussion. Seems that it might be worth checking into. I'm going to get the novel, and I might rent the movie, also. Have a great evening. Your boyfriend sounds like a romantic!

You can never go wrong with The Notebook. If you want older, Splendor in the Grass is a good one, but sort of sad. Love, Actually is a great movie, but it is centered around Christmas so I don't know. About a Boy is a good movie and not in a cheesy girl sort of way. I hope ya'll have a great V-day. It sounds like the perfect night. Good Luck.

OH!!!!! We just watched The Notebook two weeks ago (another one I've always meant to see) and we LOVED it. I know that some people think it's a cheesy love story but we were in the mood for a "chick flick" and it definitely filled the bill :) I picked up the book from the library a few days later and read that too LOL

I just watched The Lake House with Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock. It didn't do too well in theaters but I loved it.Also Benny and Joon with Johnny Depp is a classic.I watched The Breakup and it's romantic but also bittersweet, not everything has a happy ending.

Well I'm not big on Romance Movies but I know a few that also have some comedy to them. Pretty Woman was a good one. Modern day cinderella story in a way. Mrs. Winterbourne is another one that is very good with Brendan Fraser. Older movie I'd recommend Father Goose. It's more comedy then romance but it does have romance in it. Sleepless in Seattle is another good romance movie with Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan. There is a Cinderella Story with Hilary Duff. It's a cute romance story :) Knight Moves is a romantic thriller. Romance going on while there is a seriel killer on the lose. The January man has a little bit of everything, romance, comedy, mystery. Now I'm out of ideas. Hope these help you.

Fools Rush In - my husband and I went to see this movie in the theaters on Valentines day when it first came out. It is a romantic comedy, so it is funny to keep the guy interested but also has the sweetness that the woman wants. It stars Matthew Perry and Selma Hayek.

Jo, I am so sorry that I am too late to suggest one. I am still trying to catch up with my emails. If I would have gotten here in time it would have been Don Juan DiMarco, hands down ~Donna

If you like romantic comedies, I would suggest you watch "50 First Dates", "The Wedding Singer", or maybe "Blast form the Past." If you want a really good romantic movie, try watching "A Walk In The Clouds", starring Keannu Reeves. This is one of the great romantic films that I've watch, so I recommend this to you!;)

I could recommend quite a few movies that I myself love & own, as well as watch on a regular basis. As I have always been a big fan of this genre. I had mentioned some below.. Even though I am sure you had rented the movies you two are wanting to watch already.. Maybe in the future if you are wanting to rent these type of films again you will keep the ones I had mentioned in mind for next time around! I also have heard that 'Before sunrise' is a rather good film. I have only watched a little bit of it since it was close to the end of the film.. But from what I had seen I thought it was a rather beautiful film! Did you end up liking it?! . . Some of the movies I recommend are as follows: - Dying Young - This movie is quite sad & always ends up making me cry. But it has such a beautiful story line, & it's a very touching film. If you haven't seen it already I recommend you rent it! - "Ghost" - Very touching film. Also is funny at the same time. I grew up watching this film & it still remains one of my favorites to this very day. - "Pretty Woman" - This one is a classic. I loved the chemistry between Richard Gere & Julia Roberts. If you haven't seen this movie that I am sure everyone has seen by now.. I also recommend this film to you! - "Eternal sunshine of the Spotless Mind" (I have a different definition of romantic I suppose.) - "Dirty Dancing" - Grew up watching this movie. It's a classic for me & I find I melt each time I watch there love unfold on screen. - "Crazy/Beautiful" - "The Mirror Has Two Faces" - Very funny, yet sappy movie. I own this film & could truly relate to one of the characters in this movie. I recommend it whole heartedly. - "13 Going On 30" - "Only the Lonely" - "While You Were Sleeping" - "Some Kind Of Wonderful" - "Pretty In Pink" - "Never Been Kissed" - "Can't buy me love" - "The Wedding Singer" - "Bounce" - "Angel Eyes" - "Sixteen Candles" - "Baby Boom" - "Footloose" - "Bridget Jones's Diary" Thanks for allowing me to share! xx

No Before Sunrise is a good movie but it is a little wordy for a cuddle. It is more of a date movie. See it another time. My suggestion is Sleepless in Seattle. Another is An Affair to Remember. And Moonstuck.

It's a classic so you've probably seen it, but how about "The Princess Bride". It's got action, romance, revenge, true love... "Bridget Jones Diary" is also pretty fun. I'm not much for romance movies, so I think that's probably all I can suggest.

How about an old old movie black and white like gone with the wind. go to your vidio store and look in the classics section.

"Forget Paris" with Billy Crystal and Debra Winger I bought the DVD recently and did truly enjoy it. It is a romantic comedy where Billy Crystal plays a similar character than the one he played in "When harry met Sally" with Meg Ryan. If you want to have a cry... "Up close and personal" with Robert Redford and Michelle Pfeiffer is a great movie. Another favourite of mine is one of the first movie with Demi-Moore. "About last night" It is about a young man in love but to scare to commit himself to a relationship. A young Demi Moore without silicon boobs is a great actress in that movie. She will make you laugh and cry.
