She did it again ...

I have to report that our cat once again decided to pee on one our beds. She has been on kitty prozac for awhile now and it seemed to have fixed the problem. We are at a loss. Her litter box is clean so that is not the issue. My best guess is that she was mad at us for locking her out of all the bedrooms. Any thoughts?

Are you sure she doesn't have a bladder infection? Or maybe kidney problems? Another problem is cystitis. It usually affects male cats more than females, but it can happen with the girls. Often times a cat will pee someplace they normally don't because they're trying to tell you something is wrong. Is there any blood in her urine? Does she make frequent trips to the litter box and only pee small amounts? All are signs of a problem and she needs to go to the vet. The way they fix it is 2-3 weeks of antibiotics and to put the cat on a special diet so crystals won't form in the urinary tract and potentially block them up.

I am positive it is not an infection. We took her to the vet too many times just to hear she is tempermental. We love her but she drives us nuts. She only does it like once every few months and there is nothing to link these episodes.

Have you brought in any new pets like maybe a dog or another cats. If so you might want to move the cats litterbox to some where it feels is safe alot of time a cat will act out when you bring a new pet or even a baby

No changes. I tell her that I am going to bring a dog home if she keeps it up, though. I think she understands me.

I am sure you made her mad. My guess is that she knows you put he ron meds, then you locked her out of all the bedrooms, She will get over it, they all do. I do agree with the person who said to buy a new matress. If you can't afford to do that, at least buy a good deep cleaner that has enzymes in it to break down the urine.

That could well be, but I had a cat that continually did that as well, and the vet said the only solution was to get a new mattress, since cats generally keep peeing where they've gone before. They smell it, and associate it with a good place to urinate.

I am fearful you might be right. Too bad they are not cheap.

Your cat looks exactly like my 2 cats. They are both black and white. I think your cat is doing this for attention. She is mad about something. Maybe show her some extra love and see if it resolves the problem.

I'd put a litter box in every room!
