I was just wondering, me and my Mom were talking about vegetarian recipes the other day when I stumbled onto the subject of vegetarian cheese..I was just wondering how that worked. I mean cheese is milk basically..usually with some additives but mainly it's made of milk. So how's vegetarian cheese made? What do you make it from?

Hi, as far as I'm aware and don't quote me on this, but maybe it's made from soya milk?? But really thinking about it surely it's all vegetarian isn't it? It's only vegans that don't drink milk not vegetarians - Unless something else is added like gelatine?

I'm not 100% certain how it's made, but I'm pretty sure it's made with soybeans. They have soy milk. They can do a lot of things with soy. I saw a show on the learning channgel or discovery channel about how in the early 1900s they even made cars out of soy.
