The Egyptians were also well known for other healing techniques. They practiced various methods of spiritual healing, color healing, massage and surgery as well as the extensive use of therapeutic herbs and foods. Fresh Garlic cloves can be peeled and mashed and macerated in a equal parts vinegar and water. This can be used to gargle, rinse the mouth, or take internally to treat sore throats and toothache.

Well onions and garlic are very popular ingredients in cooking, but they also have healing powers. Onions and garlic are effective decongestant, expectorant for cough and colds, relieves sore throats and sinusitis. They helps lower blood pressure. When used externally they can be used for insect bites, burns and boils. http://www.natural-holistic-health.com/onion-and-garlic-herbal-profile/

Hi. Adeiza. Welcome to myLot! If they are, I don't know anything about this. I know that they are proven to be essential for the health of the body though.

None of these work in isolation in the sense one cannot rely on just onions or garlic to serve as antibiotics. They do have curative properties just as other condiments that we use in our food. To each its own.

Garlic is an anti-oxidant and helps build up the body's immune system against certain diseases. I am not sure just what onion does but it too is supposed to be good for you. :)

Garlic was an important healing agent to the ancient Egyptians just as it still is to the modern Egyptian Copts and in all Mediterranean countries. At a later time, Pliny, the Roman, devotes a lengthy section of praise to the use of garlic. Raw garlic was routinely given to asthmatics and for those suffering with other bronchial-pulmonary complaints. Onions appear to be at least somewhat effective against colds, heart disease, diabetes, osteoporosis, and other diseases and contain anti-inflammatory, anticholesterol, anticancer, and antioxidant components such as quercetin.

Ya both are antibiotics. Onion keeps our stomach cool in summers and prevent us from heatstrokes. Garlic is also beneficial , 1 slice a day empty stomach in d morning keeps many diseases away.
