Relationship has some pillars like trust, faith, space, undrestanding, love and time.Fall of any one pillar makes weak.Its very easy to get into relationship but difficult to maintain. Sorry reason for a relationship cannot be one one liner, Relationship is a big word and commitment.

In my situation, problems were introduced by my girlfriend's family, having ancient ideas. They are not modern and I have big difficulties living with them.
