please help!!about mysql problem

i've install mysql to my linux redhat OS. but then when tried to test mySQl,i've got a problem which shows: "#2002-Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket" would somebody please help me how to solve this problem?

ShaneA That does seem a bit odd but if they agreed to it when they went there, rules are rules. I do not think I would attend, that was really the whole reason I went to college.

ShaneA Skype is great, I use it to talk to my family all the time. The quality lacks a bit sometimes if the web is slow but its still a great program. Im sure the more people use it the beter it will get.

ShaneA Hello, It sounds to me like the quarter never got plated (or Clad as they call it in the USA) on the one side. The coin is indeed an error but not a very valuble one. I would venture to say its worth a buck or so.
