I am pretty certain that the only way one can determine if they have strep throat is to go see the doctor. The doctor has to swab the throat and send a sample to the lab for a 100% diagnosis of strep. I've had it before and it was horrible. You feel as if you can't swallow and it hurts to eat. Hopefully you don't have strep throat and will feel better soon. Take care.

The only way to know for sure is to go to the doctor and have a throat culture done. Usually with strep throat you don't feel well- you feel run down and sick. You usually have a fever, most often swollen lymph glandes in the neck, and a foul taste in the mouth. You may or may not notice white spots or patches in the back of your throat. If you're feeling well otherwise and think it's just dry air, chances are it's not strep. Drink a lot of fluids and call the doctor if it gets worse or you have a high fever.
