If god made everything then who made god?

If god were real where and when did god come from? If god is always there then what is it to stop me from saying the universe always existed or that time always existed. For all you know there could be a watch that always existed and not have a creator. Tell me something that is convincing and yet true.

I always had the same question until I found the book, "Power of Kabbalah" which is not religion based, but does address those exact questions you have posed! You should read it, it's enlightening, mind, soul, and life changing.

The universe merely consists of physical matter. Physical matter is not infinite, and is therefore bound to decay over time. Since God is a spirit, he isn't "bound" by the laws of physics; nor the "laws" of time. God operates "outside" of time and space -- making God far superior and infinitely more powerful than this physical universe. God was never "enslaved" to a non-existent state, like the universe once was. Since time doesn't apply to God, then his "age" would span both infinitely backwards, and infintely forwards. It's like standing between 2 mirrors (like in a dressing room) and seeing your reflection stretch on and on to infinity -- infinite in all directions you look.

Let me say things that I believe in. I am not trying to convince anybody...just a thought...and I just hope it makes sense...
God is not the universe, but rather, the Power that created the universe. The first and greatest scientific power to have combined all compatible elements in the vast open space... where things ...seen and unseen... began.
God is older than the universe...our Time and Space. We shouldn't try to prove His existence, because we ourselves are here, who are living proofs that there surely is a great power where everything began.

interesting question.this shows you are rational and pragmatic and believing in humanism.a rational person like you is needed to cure religious bigotry and superstition. i am muslim by birth but have the same questions like you. i am also skeptical about the existence of God. i believe in scentific of creation of universe and earth. However you have put an exellent question.

Have you tried reading the Bible? =) God has no beginning and no end. Our 'great' knowledge is so pathetic if compared with that of God. If God DOES tell us who created Him, we won't be able to cmoprehend it even a bit. =) That's what I think.
