A MyLot Warning

Hi everyone,to prove a point and to warn other users off,i created a different myLot account, just to prove how easy it is to get scammed, i claimed that i made $250 every week on the internet and i only put in 5 minutes work,i then went on to explain that if people emailed me i would send them my ebook for $5.00, ofcourse this ebook does not exist, and if i got over 100 people i would reduce the price to $3.00.
I added 5 friends too the account and i recieved 56 emails from people asking for details on my Ebook.
be alert there are alot of scammers on mylot do not spend a single cent to people who promise to make you rich, they are getting rich taking money from innocent people like you and me who cannot afford to lose the money.if something looks too good to be true then it probably is.
the cure for this is for MyLot to monitor the discussions, removing discussions from people trying to scam you out of money, yahoo answers do it right and myLot would be a far better site if they monitored the discussions better.

Thank you so much!! I've noticed some things as well on here. Granted I do check some of the things out. The moment I read "enter credit card # here" or anything about payment... I exit out. We should not have to pay them. That's my first warning of a scam. Thank you so much for your post. We all need to realize that there are a lot of scammers out there. I make about 20 dollars a month, and I don't spend a whole lot of time on here. But that's extra pocket cash, just for writing down my opinions when I'm bored and can't sleep. So I'm okay with it! I wish I could make more money, but it isn't always that easy. Thanks so much

Wow that is wonderful! I am very happy for you that you make that extra money. Sometimes I do mystery shops to make extra money and that is nice. I love forums and discussion boards so when I saw about this opportunity I signed up because I thought it wouldn't hurt to make money about giving my opinions ;).

Why should you have to warn people about scammers here? You imply that people are stupid.
I would never send anyone money from a website like this, I'm not stupid like that. I don't sign up for programs that require an upfront payment either.
If you're stupid enough to fall for something like that, then you'll never pay attention to the warnings. It's as simple as that.

I hate the messages about making money. I never read them and therefore don't reply. I wonder whether the way to make the point known is to give them a negative rating and then they might thing about what they are saying.

There are some honest people here especialy the ones who offer their services for free, but some of them can be trying to gain confidence before asking for money ,its just a matter of knowing the tricks

Yes i saw similar things and I reported it, mylot admin can't monitor all discussions and they rely on us to report abuse, as for people falling for scams; they should have some common sense when seeing things like that, easy money doesn't exist.. sites that promise 'residual income' , etc are mostly scams, mylot does pay but it's free to join and it takes time and effort and the money isn't much after all, but this is the way with all legitimate and honest things online or offline..

Interesting ruse jimmy
I too am getting the feeling that although there are some genuinely sweet folk on Mylot, there are also some great liars who lie about their internet income, and also some genuinely distasteful people who post shocking material just to get response. I am seriously thinking about jacking in Mylot once my first payment has come in, it's doing my head in...couple more weeks and I am out of this madhouse.
I didn't post for a full 24 hours the other day, didn't even touch my PC and I felt so much better for it....

you should post positive things to make up for the negative ones also no-one thinks that everything on my lot reflects all it's users thats just silly..just ignore users who make you feel bad and look for upbeat ones! good luck to you! and have a very nice day!

I freakinly agree on you friend :) Its just the same as spam mails sent every other week. Ive received one and its really seems a great offer but good thing i don't have dollars and I used my brain to not be gone catchy to it. sometimes i don't dig why people have to do scamming just to make money. Do they really became rich that way, sad to say, they feed their own family from stolen money of innocent people. How come they can take that anyway? maybe its because they have the evil side of brain :) To mylot users, watch out or be scammed, i told you, scammers are too much rampant this internet days.

Good experiment jimmythejock, just shows how gullible people can be when it comes to get-rich-schemes, have always been wary with the people on the internet you really don't know who you are talking to and what they are saying is true. I have not joined any money-making sites, mylot being the first one because this has been backed with my friends. And thanks for the warnings! You have a good heart taking time out to do this and show people that IT CAN HAPPEN, and also that you were not tempted to pulll it off..lol! Good job!

You are very right people don't even care about other peoples feelings they just care about money. This has been proved many times as families break up over money rows and also people marry other people for their money. Lets make mylot a scam free place!

thanks, This site shouldn't be used to scam people, its a community or discuss place, so pretty much this site should be totally conversation not some,
"hey buddy how about you give to $25 bucks and Ill give you
a free ebay account"
OF course you can sign up at ebay for free.
So pretty much some people are trying to do mean things.

this is a great experiment you did. and i agree with you that there are so many scammers around. not just here on mylot but, everywhere. this is due to the way things are right now. life is hard and a lot of people are desperately looking for ways to earn money anywhere. and it's sad that there are people taking advantage of this fact. let's all be careful of these things. if they ask for money then let's avoid it. why should we pay before getting paid.
