Is your work now what you've studied for?

Some teachers ended up as entrepreneurs, computer science graduates ended up as secretaries. My daughter has a Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy but works as a medical transcriptionist. Did you get the right job you are trained for? Why is that? Is it because of the scarcity of job opportunities?

Its really hard to look for a job that is suited for you. Just like what happened to me. But still I am thankful that I have a job now and was able to help my family. Sometimes rather than looking for suitable job for you, for some reason, you end up with a job that is not totally related to your course.

Sometimes we are left with no other choice because of the scarcity of jobs. We might spend our whole life job hunting. cheers.

Yes some people are really gifted in marketing. It's not one of my gifts though, I'm poor at it. Well I hope you find something that you are really good at and will give you a real job satisfaction.

Hi, I trained to be a hairdresser when I was younger (I know it's not something you study for, but it is two years of training) although as soon as I finished training I decided I wanted to do something else, as the money was rubbish and I hated standing up all day chatting inanely with anyone who'll listen. I'm now a secretary and far removed from the hairdresser I was 20 odd years ago! I think sometimes you grow up and realise you just want to do something else!

I'm an electrical engineer but I cannot find job that's related to my profession, but luckily a friend informed me about an opening in a telecom company, and I got hired. That was 10 years ago, and now I'm still workng with them. Though the job is not related at all to my profession, I enjoyed it very much and I learned a lot from my experience.
