Sweet 16 is really sweet why?

The age 16 we call sweet 16 but it is teen age, so why people call 16 age as sweet sixteen! And why 32 age will not double sweet? What you think about sweet figure of age for boy and girl?

Yes age 16 is sweet that is sweet feelings are being start from this age for most of the peoples for which it called sweet sixteen. When it increase sweet is decreasing for which 32 is not double sweet..lol

I am not sure why that is that way. I suppose it is sweet because it is such a young and innocence age.
