to know the gender of your baby before he/she will be born? I at this time think I would like to know... but I'm not pregnant yet so maybe Ill think different about it when I am. What would be the reason for your choise? My reason for wanting to know would be that you can make the babyroom specially for a boy or a girl.... And so that I can think of a name :) Take Care!

I think I'd want to know whether it was a boy or a girl. I guess a surprise would be nice, but I would want to know how to decorate the baby's room and stuff like that. Plus, it would make naming them a lot easier. A lot of people though don't like to know. They like the surprise of finding out when he or she is born. I can't blame them for that.

I dont understand why decorating the babies room would be a problem. I think that babies dont care much about color nor anything but warmth and food. I dont appreciate gender based decisions about color or other things as they lead us into bad sterotypes.

I agree with your opinion... I would like to know. Offcourse I dont know if thats still the same when I get pregnant. I also understand people who do not want to know... the surprise must be fantastic!!

the first one was a surprise! the second one we new the gender! we didn't tell anybody that we new because i know that everybody tries and hope that your accidently say what it is!So when they asked me do you know what it is i said no this one will be a surprise too! why i wanted to know the second one? because i had a lot of girlsclothes and stuff, so i could save it for the next one! by the way, it is possible they are wrong telling you you are going to have a boy, and at the delivery it is a girl! that's why the babyroom was for a girl or a boy!

Oke so you have experienced both, Not knowing and knowing the gender... And offcourse they can be wrong about the gender so you never know 100% sure untill the baby is born :) Thanks!

I have two kids and never found out the gender of the baby, so many people asked me if I had but I simply felt it will take th surprise element out of the pregnancy, I enjoyed the mind game and so many guesses people used to make about the gender of the baby. like holding the locket over tummy and seeing te size of the belly to judge the gender, it was fun and we used to really enjoy. I chose both the girls and boys names for the baby and bought dresses in colours like red and oranges mainly stitched few loose tops that could be worn by both the Girl and the boy and even embroidered them but took care that my choice didn't reflect the specific gender. I made quite a few dresses that way. greens ,reds , yellowa, peach and so many other colours I added that it ceased to matter what the gender of the baby would be, I bought a red pram that would go for both bay and the girl. I never wanted to find out till the last minute and my family also feel thaty when ypou announce the news it takes fun out of the news if gender is known before hand. But each to his own choice.

I am the type of person that has to know. I have 2 children. With my first I was a little more patient. I waited until the 20th week to find out. It doesn't ever matter to me either way. I jsut have to know. With my 2nd I went to a 3D u/s place when I was 17 weeks pregnant to find out. Not knowing was killing me. If we have another one, I can't decide if I want to know or not. It will be our last and we have 2 boys so I might just want to wait so no one says oh, you are having another boy!

I found out with my daughter because I wanted to know what clothes to buy, how to decorate and what name to pick out. I could hardly wait till 20weeks to find out. With my next child I think I want to wait untill the baby is born. What joy to have a child, does it really matter the gender of the baby?

I think I like the idea of surprise after birth in knowledge of gender. It is one of natures gifts. I just want a healthy baby anyway.

I wanted to be surprised when I was pregnant. I like the whole idea of having a baby being like receiving a gift, and you don't know what the gift is until you get it. :)
