Have you met more ignorant/rude people here on mylot than in your daily life?

When looking through the top discussions, I see that offensive discussions are started by people who have no clue of what is right and what is wrong. There are so many people who discriminate religions, races, and even people who are just different. I most be honest when I say that I think I have found more people who sicken me here on mylot than in my daily life. I know we like to debate and stand up for what we believe in but some people really need to consider others for a change. I hope everyone has a good time here on mylot.

You have a large group of people from all over the world commenting on a wide variety of topics, differences of opinion are bound to happen.

Yes, I've noticed all different kinds of discussions, from excellent to awful. Since the people who write the awful things are doing it in the privacy of their own places, they feel free to write things they might not say to anyone's face. Maybe they will learn right from wrong through experience. If they prefer to remain ignorant, there is no hope for them.

I work in a public library and I see way more ignorant/rude people in real life than here. I mean, yes, there are a lot of rude people who think they can say anything they want because no one can do anything about it. But, where I work, people are rude to your face and you are expected to take it with a smile. We deal with a lot of mentally ill people who complain to our bosses about everything, most of it is in their own mind. But, we have to accommodate them and their illness unless they're being destructive.

Yes I started a discussion just the other day that went from just easy information to a big fight. I do not like to fight and I wish I was able to erease that whole discussion, but then again I do not want to erease it becuase its very useful information.

When people do not think things through before typing their words, it interrupts many people's enjoyment here on mylot. I hope that fight has been resolved.

Not really. I came to know that different religions and races have diffrent cultures, upbringing, opinions and views. But some people did go all the way to be harsh in their words. But its their prerogative. You might like to choose topics that you think are safest and more preferential to you.
