Since I was a little girl we always had a real tree..a tradtion I kept going..I love the smell of the pine needles..and it looks just so much prettier. The only thing I don't like it the clean-up...sometimes it seems like I find needles until Easter..luckily now we have hardwood floors..what should make the clean-up much easier.

We used to put a fresh tree every year, but in the past 3 or 4, we've been putting up a fake tree. It's much cleaner, goes up in just a few moments, doesn't need watered, and I don't have to wait for a certain day to take it down or make sure it's by the side of the road. I miss the smell of a fresh tree, but don't miss the mess.

Same for us. There is just too much other stuff going on to worry about constantly watering, picking up fallen needles, and dreading the clean up. Plus, the kids have fun helping put the tree together. Like a HUGE 3D puzzle!

We always buy a real tree. To me, it's just not Christmas without one. My childhood memories of Christmas aren't filled with toys, but the smell of the tree and all the delicious cooking aromaas. I want my children to have the same type of warm fuzzy memories.

I grwo up in Japan and we celebrate xmas but not like American do. So I never had real xmas tree so when I got married, I told my husband that I will have a real tree and no fake trees, it became our tradition to go get the real tree together in late November or early December each year. I hate cleaning up after the tree too. I also got hardwood flooring so it very easy to clean now.

What do trees have to Jesus in the first place? I hate to answer a question with a question. The tree thing all started when the catholics were trying to convert the Druids. They were tree-worshipers, and instead of telling them not to do this, the catholics merely made an excuse for them to continue worshiping trees and somehow tied it in with Christmas. How Dec. 25 became Christ's birthday. who knows?

We're still on the fence about this topic in our household. I've never had a fake tree, and I'm from Hawaii! This Christmas will be my son's very first Christmas and our first Christmas in our very own home, so it's a lot of firsts. It it were just me I'd probably get a fake tree or just a really small one about the 3-4 ft tall but since it's his first we have to get a regular size tree at least 5-6 ft. My son is only 7 mos and will be 8 by Christmas, do I really need a real tree?

We will have a real tree. I like being able to take my kids to pick it out and decorate it, plus, I don't have to worry about storing it all year, rebending the "branches", making sure it didn't break and all that. There's just something about a real tree that I love. The clean up is worth it for me.

Since I was a little girl we always had a real christmas tree. I love the smell of them, and they are much prettier, they also remind me of my childhood. I just have a hard time finding the money for a great real tree, they are so expensive. I have a very nice fake tree, and it doesn't cost me anymore money, however this is my on childs first christmas and I am feeling compelled to perhaps do both.
